Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Are mages too powerful?

I've played previously as a fighter and as an archer, and now a mage. My puny weakling little mage stomps everything into the ground pretty fast - way faster than any other class so far. Even Iona's pet was no big deal for a buffed mage. Not that I'm complaining, but my mage hasn't died in a very long time.

In my first game as a warrior I avoided skills and equipment bonuses that were overpowered (ie Frost swords) and only used 1 charm. Playing a survivor on hard, I did a lot of hit and run with a bow to kill the zombie Jake on level 1. I only played a mage briefly; using the Meteorstrike spell it wasn't even funny how fast Jake died, since it has a stunning effect and can be cast repeatedly almost as fast as you can click.
