Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) General about buying skills

Okay im a little confused about the buying skills part....i understand that you have to buy them to be able to puts points in them and what not but what is with the lvls you see associated with them when talking to trainers? are those the lvl you can train up to after buying them? and if so if with the skills you start with how high can you takes those before you have to buy them again?

EAch teacher has a level that he can teach you up to....

In other words, if you get a teacher where you can buy lockpick level 5 , you can only invest 5 points in the skill.... until you find a teacher that can teach you a higher level, then you can add more.

Alchemy has a maximum level of 4, some skills can go up to 10, and others go to 20 (in the after-game battlefields).
