I think South Africa is the only country where school kids in rural areas walk home ON THE FREEWAY!!!!

SA is the only place where you can buy any of the following at almost EVERY Traffic light.... Coat hangers, paintings, artwork, refuse bags, PIRATED DVD's, Sunglases, caps, unbrellas, shoes, jeans, all this alongside the normal newspapers etc.... THere are vendors walking up and down at traffic lights, trying to flog all this to the public, they very persistant too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> the only thing you cant do at the traffic lights, is pay by credit card!!!!!

And on that topic, i dont think it will take longer than months before they start that facility too.... we just got the banks to incorporate a normal cellphone, to be able to act as a credit card machine point..... it wont be long until they catch on to this.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

High taxes. Might not be unique, but here you acually GET somethign for those taxes!

The pepole selling downloadable stuffs (cumputergames, music etc) philosophy of getting pepole to stop dl and buy it instead. They acually reaise the prices... I think they allready given up the war with the dl'ers and now aim at rip pepole who don't whant/know how to dl off.
