I'm sure that this question has been asked and discussed in depth in the past, but I'm new here so I'm going to use that as an excuse... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> Which of the three characters do you think is easiest or hardest to play? I'm sure that it all depends on the difficulty setting, but I'd like to know. I started this game as the warrior. I'm going to finish the game with this character, but so far I'm liking it so much that I'm thinking of playing it with the other characters as well. All of your inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't know if there is any answer to your question.
I like to be a warrior and i played the game in the hardcore mode with 2 warriors (Hero + DK) without great difficulties.
But i am very bad playing a mage or a survivor.

I know other members who beated easyly the game being a mage or a survivor.

I thought that the game is good for playing the 3 characters but the results depends on the gamer himself.

I think it depens more on the party that on the hero...

on hardcore setting:

mage/mage: i have given up at a very low level... too hard!

hero warrior/DK mage: best choice, IMO

hero mage/DK warrior: good choice but not so good than the previous. Final fights are a bit harder, i think.

hero warrior/DK warrior: i was frustrated not really using too many spells (even if a warrior may have spells as it is not a class based system), but i like magic... i didn't finish the game BTW which mean i was really frustrated.

hero survivor/DK mage: err... too hard for me.

didn't play other combination.

hmm... barta is absolutly right it's something that may depends more on the gamer that on the game... so it is only what i felt.

I use custom characters, like a warrior/survior mixed for one and mage/warrior for the other.

I prefer to have the Hero be a meelee (one hand w/ shield) warrior while DK is an Archer/Mage.

Thanks for all the input. I have started my first run with a warrior/DK warrior. I will see how it goes, but now I am thinking that I should have gone with an archer/mage/DK warrior. Maybe Ill try that on the second run. Thanks for the info it has been very helpful.

I also started both characters as warriors, and kept them that was for most of act 1, since skeletons are vulnerable to crushing damage (DK used a sword, the hero used a club or fighting stick). My hero was also a part time archer, which switched to mostly full time near the end of act 1 (upon reaching the citadel).

The really effective spells (shaman magic) are available starting in the second act, so waiting to build a mage is not going to hurt anything, either.
