Hi, this is my first post. I'm tired of my problem so I figure maybe one of you can help me.

Ok. I'm trying to fix this and it's been a while. First, when I try to configure the game in DirectX, nothing happen. Only the white cursor and a black screen. However, I'm able to play in DirectX mode if a skip the test. But for only an hour or so. The game crash and PC reboot by itself often. I'm experiencing this problem only since I'm very far in the game and since I've updated the game to the latest patch. It did that with patch 1.32 and the same with patch 1.33. The other modes, DirectDraw and Software are very unstable.

I have updated my video card drivers (I have a Radeon 9500 Pro) also updated to directX 9, etc. Nothing better. I even tried the trick of running the game as Windows 2000 compatibility. Also tried to clean the dynamic directory, reinstalling the game often, and so on.

I have Windows XP Pro, 1GB of RAM, AMD Athlon 1900+ and a Radeon 9500 Pro video card.

I really don't know what would be my next step as I thought patch 1.33 would resolve this problem. How can the game work for me without any problem until like level 20 and after that, major crashes all the time, from crashes to desktop and rebooting, etc. It's really weird. It's not like if I've installed other things that would get in conflict cause I havent touch anything in my computer since the day I installed Divine Divinity. When troubles begans, I then started to patch and patch and update drivers and update to directx 9.

Please someone help me! I'm desperate!

The corrector? What's that? Another patch? I have to say that in my case, the game crashes randomly. There's no specific places to be for the game to crash.

Sorry I didnt mention it but Service Pack 1 was installed before I even bought the game. So I always played this game with the Service Pack 1 for XP. It was running great at the time.

Please try defragmenting , and pleaee tell us how much free disk space is there.

I tried defragmenting before installing, after installing, after applying the Patches, and after applying the Patches. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" /> Now it works.

Some problems also come from having not enough free disc space for the windows swap file.

I have 17GB free. Tried your defrag idea, not working. I think I will start to cry.

Not sure if this will help, but I was getting random crashes (you can look a couple pages back to find my thread in here), and it seems that setting the display to 16-bit color and/or putting the windows hardware acceleration down a notch on my soundcard might have helped with the random crashes. I had maybe one or two after I did that, and I haven't had any since (and I play a lot). We have a different o.s. and just about everything else, but can't hurt to try.
