Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems Localization... Help! :-(

I have Beyond Divinity with French Localization Patch. My French is very bad, and I would like to change the language to English.
As I see, I need those "text.cmp" and other files for English version... How and where can I get these files!?

Unfortunately a language patch to convert from French to English doesn't exist...
The spoken dialogs in the game are in English however, but I don't know if that's sufficient for you to continue playing?

It would be enough if I don't need to answer to their questions... Or ask questions my self... Of course, text of my own speech is on French. I see there are some "text.cmp" files that are actually localizations. But I don't know which I really have to replace...

Do you have any bilingual friends? You could try getting them hooked on BD and offer to trade them for the English version. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />


A couple people have had partial success just swapping in files from the English version. Email or PM me, and I can email you some of the relevant files. See;

The last person I sent some English version files to changed the registry entry for the game to list 'English' as the language, and were able to install the latest English patch, which they said also helped with the translation.
If you are not comfortable with Registry editing, check out this topic for the download and description of a reg file you can use, or Larian support can email you a much more user friendly vbs (Visual Basic Script) file to create / alter the required registry entries.
