Just wanted to say thanks to Lady Rain for helping me out and Raze for his hard work on the inventory files. I got stuck again- I didn't have the white rum (lost it somewhere) and I also killed Kegan (since I wasn't wearing the citadel armor again). I thought I was done for again for sure!!!! Looks like I can get Bram's Key thanks to the inventory file collection. And the strategy guide i just downloaded is awesome. This is a great forum, helpful people.

Thank heavens you are not stuck (really)...

The quest is not a crucial one. And the story will move on... ( i also checked quickly, there is no inventory files for the rum YET - if i get a chance i will load up an old save and resque the rum)
