Have you emailed a short discription of your error to support@larian.com ? They will know exactly what it means and how to correct the problem.

Here is some of the most common things causing errors on the game:

1. DirectX / driver conflicts
Click start, run and type in DXDIAG
Run all the tests in the program, especially all the sounds and video tests.
There is a option to save the report, do this and send it with your email to the larian support team.

2. Spyware changing necesary DLL files on your computer. You can get a very good and free spyware removal program from Spybot Search and Destroy - Run the program, update it (all in a wizard form) and then check for any problems on your computer and tell the program to fix them.

3. Viruses attacking executable files in the game. Free online scanner (also a very good one)

4. If you are running WIndows XP with SErvice pack 1 (on service pack 2 its already fixed) There is a game bug that can cause games to either randomly crash, or not to load at all. To fix this here is the microsoft patch

5. Try deleting the files in the dynamic folders;
'..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act1\Dynamic', '..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act2\Dynamic', etc.
These folders are used as a cache for the game. Files are created / copied there from the save game folder when you load, and written / copied to those folders when you save a game. The files will be re-created as required the next time you start Beyond Divinity. If there was a corrupt file in those folders, deleting the files should fix the problem.

6. Check if there are files called debug.lst or error.txt In the Beyond Divinity folder.

7. Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game? (there are KNOWN issues with Norton AntiVirus and a couple of orthers).

Glad it was something easy to fix. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/party.gif" alt="" />
If it is any consolation, a few other people have done the same thing.

With the UK / North American versions, inserting the wrong disk gives a somewhat cryptic error message, but doesn't cause a crash. The UK version labels the disks as 'install-cd' and 'game-cd', rather than just disk 1 and 2.
