After playing through the game to about half way through Act 2 I thought I would start a new game to see if hex editing my player experience would make it a one hit/boring type thing. Well...it was, but after returning for the first time from the battlefield half of the monsters were at the same or right around my level. With beginning armor you die fast, did the monsters only go up to my level because of going to the battlefield or do they always do that? Also, is there a way to keep them at the level the game has them originally set to be no matter what the player level is? I am just curious of course, the game is much more fun playing the way I started out originally.

I don't know if the level change was to balance the game so you do not get too powerful in the BF, or a more general effect as you enter new areas in the game. I never tried playing very long with hex edited characters.

If you hex edit stat and skill points directly, rather than experience points, you should be able to play overpowered characters without effecting the level of your opponents.
