An old one. But maybe something for the new(er) members? Find your inner beast! me = You are the most universal mythical beast ever. Sightings of the unicorn have been reported from all over the world, even in modern times. Unicorns are pure and incorruptible. In China, unicorns symbolized gentleness, good will, and wisdom. Christianity links the unicorn with Christ. It is said that unicorns would only allow virgin girls to see them, let alone touch them. They were easily lured into fatal ambushes by a virgin with some poachers waiting for the unicorn in nearby bushes. A unicorn's horn was a highly prized possession, which was reputed to have great healing capabilities. With the touch of its horn, a unicorn could bring back a person who had been dead for several hours. But when separated from the unicorn's body, the magic was significantly reduced. The unicorn had the body of a horse, a unique spiraling horn, and a lion's tail. They were pure white in color.

Here's mine: Also known widely as the Fire Bird, the phoenix is a profound symbol of the life and rebirth. It has a life cycle of 500 to 600 years and after that amount of time, it sets itself on fire and dies in the flames. Then, after three days, it rises again from the ashes. It is a completely benign creature who lives in dew. It is said that the phoenix has a beautiful melodious song which grows ever more mournful as its life comes to an end. It is also a symbol of the sun and immortality. Tsel

Hmm figured that question about what best represents you had to do with the graphic ![[Linked Image]](http://www.yayajon.com/watercircle/images/quizresultgriffin.jpg) A formidable creature half lion and half eagle, the griffin is said to be one thousand times stronger than any lion and five thousand times as farsighted as an eagle. Humans find themselves unable to lie while in a Griffin's presence. The griffin is also said to be fierce and untamed. It was a protector against evil and people often wore talismans of a griffin's claw to protect them from demons. Griffins were often used as transport for the gods. They were also reputed to swoop down from the mountains on occasion and pick up goats and small horses and bring them back to their nests for their young.

In medieval Europe, dragons were considered mostly evil and a generally bad omen. Christianity linked the dragon with Satan because of the dragon's snake-like appearance. However, to the Orient cultures the dragon was a symbol of wisdom and royalty. It was a benign animal and the fifth creature of the Chinese zodiac. It resided over the east and the sunrise. It was also said to bring rain and the springtime. The dragon is interesting because it combines all four elements: air, earth, fire, and water. It could fly, had the horns of a ox, breathed fire, and resided over the moon.

What mythical beast best represents you?Take the quiz! Yeah, I'll agree with that. I intend to live forever. I haven't been proven wrong yet! Mind you, I think that quiz was a bit of a cop out. Too many questions were directly related to the beasts. Still, it's just harmless fun.

It makes me think about the Native American/shamanic's animal totems. Since I lived for several years near and with Cris and Montagnais (spelling?), they thaught me a bit about their spirituality. I find it beautiful; everything is based on life respect. In their spirituality, animal spirits are our guides, in someway. Sometimes we choose them, sometimes we're chosen by them. We can discover our animal totem through reflection and meditation, or by performing a Vision Quest. There are four kinds of animal totems that we can come across. There are the life long animal totems, wich work with us and teach us things throughout our entire life; message animal totems, wich carry messages, warnings and can be a sign of self growth to come; shadow animal totems that intervene to challenge, test us; and journey animal totems, wich guide us a bit like the life long animal totem does but only during a certain period of time. For those interested, here are two great websites on the subject: info on animal totem & totem medicine and description of each animal's wisdom. If anyone of you knows or discover its animal totems, post it please; I would be interested in hearing about it and it's very revealing on each other's peronality. In my case, my life long animal totem is the wolf, but I've also ever been very close to the horse in my childhood. And those animals are amazingly coherent with who I am.

@ Lafille It appears that my totem is a horse. Here is some wisdom about those fine and noble creatures. I have strong feelings for the horses, especially for Mustangs. Remember "Hidalgo"? I think Elves and horses go very well together. Horse/Pony/Mustang's Wisdom Includes: Power Stamina Endurance Faithfulness Freedom to run free Control of the environment Awareness of power achieved with true cooperation Interspecies communication Expanding one’s own potential abilities Friendship and Cooperation Travel Astral travel Guardian of travelers Warns of possible danger Guide to overcoming obstacles My shadow totem are spiders and big vicious dogs. No comment on that.
