[color:"yellow"]I started this thread for those who wish to share things truthfully and openly about themselves. Maybe something like this was already started; if that is the case I apologize.
Here is a little about me. Not everything, but enough for now.
I was born in the 60’s. I started reading Encyclopedias and looking up words in the Dictionary at the age of 5. I went to religious private schools all, but 2 years of my life; my education years. My main focus of study as a child to today has been religions, the occult and occult philosophy. I know a little about a lot of belief systems and a whole lot about a few of them. Four of those years I was in a religious multicultural boarding school so I got to learn a lot about the customs, cultures, and ways of others from other countries. I worked various odd jobs. I even worked as a toilet scrubber. I joined the military and I saw and lived in a whole lot of this earth. So because of my boarding school years and my military years I have really gotten to know other countries way of thinking. I do not suffer from the limited vision that most others from my country do. When I got out of the military I turned wrenches for awhile and I said forget this and I went into purchasing of electronic parts; mainly the procurement of the parts that build mother boards, hard drives, and such. I worked from the ground up until I became the manager of one organization. At that time I took home nearly 60,000 EUR a year. Then the company started to go under and I was the third person cut. They tried to suck my job knowledge out of me before they cut me, but I was wise to their games and only gave them enough info to make them think they knew how to do my job. The company has almost gone under now due to very bad purchasing practices. I was lucky and a few co-workers who left that company earlier knew my skills and they hired me the day I was cut. Now I make around 25,000 EUR a year. They say money can’t buy you happiness, but having it can sure make things less stressful.
I registered the first time here at Larian back in mid 2003. It was only the second forum I ever registered on and I basically had no clue whatsoever on how one really participated on a forum. I posted a few times and the only person here I spoke with was DATD, but that was via post Not PM. I never PM’d anyone back then. DATD helped me with a DD problem I was having. Thank you again DATD. I mainly stayed in the background and I read a thread or two from time to time. Not in this order, but some of the threads like Mickey’s thread of if one should let out their anger or hold it in and Kris’s Git thread. The one topic that really touched me was Kiya’s words on the abortion topic. She used careful calculated words to get her point across, but between the lines one could still see the fear, sorrow, and pain. It brought tears to my eyes. I tried to remember my first accounts login and password, but I forgot it and I didn’t want to bother asking Lynn for it. So I just started a new account.
Finally, I live in Los Angeles County California. For those who need more, I’m about a stones throw away from the city Los Angeles itself and pretty close to Hollywood too. Believe you me, I’d much rather still be living in the Caribbean.

A little about me, while i am not in the mood to go crawl into bed (yet).
I am female, young(ish), with a personality that can change from vibrant to energy sucking in 0.2 seconds flat....
I grew up in a country environment... loved it, was THE tomboy in town... My mother was and still Is the most important person in my life, also the person i love beyond comprehension. If someone ever tell me that i am just like my mother, i would consider it the biggest compliment EVER!!!!! If i can one day raise my kids like my mom raised me, i would have done a job to perfection
I believe that my dogs are more human than most people. I believe that if i can only get the attitude of my dogs, i would be able to move mountains. I believe a little about a whole lot (yea i am stealing your phrase tsel ) and a whole lot about a little. I do believe that narrowmindedness is more dangerous than any weapon. I do believe that ignorance is a disease we inherit from our role models. I believe that common sense is not so common anymore. I believe that opninions are like a$$holes.... everybody has one, and they all stink.... (that says a LOT about what i just wrote here!?!?!?! )
I love sharing information, being able to help and dont understand it when people do not want to accept the gift of knowledge. Moderation is a part of life, exept when it comes to effort vs. gain..... then you give it ALL + more. I dont mind working myself to shreds, as long as after a while, i can show what i achieved from it.
I am under the impression that your souldmate doesnt have to be the one you are married to, BUT your spouse should never have any reason to fear your soul mate. There should never be anything that you can tell the one, and not the other... the only difference is that the one MAY not always understand what you tell him/her.
I am sure that i spoke more $h|t now than any of you were interested in reading, but these are the things that define me. my past has little effect on me, neither do my surroundings. I AM what i believe....
and finally i believe that its currently bed time.
Your existence alone, is excuse enough for the creation of the entire universe… Il you my darling Jeanne-Dré

Ok. It's my turn. My name is Sarah (aren't you absolutely shocked?). I live here in St Louis, Missouri. Another shocking fact huh?
Where to begin? Well, I just turned 30 last November and experienced the horrible sensation that I am sooo OLD! Within the first week, I found a gray hair and my doctor prescribed eye glasses! I about died! Now I creak like an old lady.
I actually have a degree in elementary education and taught kindergarten for a while until I realized that it was not for me. So I quickly made a switch to the finance world. What!?!! Wiping boogers and tying sneakers is about the same as investing right?
I have two adorable kittens (actually they are adults but are still babies in my eyes) who are the center of my world. Hey that sounds pathetic huh. Hopefully nobody starts thinking "omg! There is an old lady with cats is in our forum!"
That's about all the news from the Show Me state. Thanks for letting me in!

You're no old lady, just well lived!
About me
I am me. I am not a "goth" or a "techno-head" or a "geek" or a "wiccan". I just resemble them. I am me.
In summary: Cats, cats, cats... Coffee, coffee, coffee... Bounce, bounce, bounce...
I live with my cousin, not that he's ever home. We're looking for a third housemate right now. I also live with my precious cats: Gwen (Guenevere) and Litha (Summer Solstice). Friendly, loving and firece. They are kind to most people, but won't take [nocando] from anyone. There are dogs that refuse to walk past our house.
I have always been intelectual, to the point where it causes insomnia. I grew up in the suburbs and went to school in the city, Melbourne. It was an elite school, but not a private school. Unfortunately, my smarts worked against me. I breezed through high-school and started University. I then started failing because I had never learned how to study and was too apathetic. I made it halfway through a Robotics and Computer Science course.
I have usually been the outcast amongst people, very much bullied before arriving at the above school. Now I generally only keep dear friends close and don't worry about all the "acquaintances". I've just come out of a five year relationship that probably should have ended three years ago. Oh well, at least we're all still alive.
In high-school, I started working for a convinience store called Hand-E-Food. Since then, I've stuck to the name. Now I work for a government contractor doing everything that no one else does, mostly special projects and application design. I mostly work alone (though surrounded by people). The pay is crap (due to the industry) and it's too far from home, but I love what I do. (Such as surf the net... )
Not suprisingly, I'm a gamer. Computer games, board games, card games, role-playing games, mind games (both puzzle and personal ), ... Mostly I prefer something with a good story or a builder game, but shoot-em-up is good for when I'm stressed.
I don't watch TV for the most part, but have a decent DVD collection. I like my share of mindless action, but mostly I watch thought provoking films, so a lot of anime and art-house stuff. I love music and, to a much lesser degree, song. Mostly I prefer electronica, drum & bass, goth rock and orchestral, though most genres appeal in their own way and in their own time. Dancing is also fun. It's great once you've learned how to be uninhibited without drinking!

@ Mea -> yet another classic Mea.
@ Barta -> i feel that u're getting funnier & funnier each time u post. i think u must have put in a lot of points in your Joke skills.
@ Tsel -> be careful now. we don't want another Talented Mr Ripley turning into Talented Mr Tsel. thanks for sharing, ol' boy. funny how we're alike in that DATD was also the first person to PM me, offering to make an avatar for me. was taken aback by kindness from someone i didn't know at all.
@ death ol' boy -> u're one heck of a dude.
@ Lady Rain -> i think u did your doggies a disservice by saying that they're like human; i think they prefer u to say that they're better than human.
[color:"pink"] ... dont understand it when people do not want to accept the gift of knowledge. Lady Rain well, u know, ignorance is bliss.
as for that soulmate thingie, i miss that thread u made on saying loving words to people u love. & yes, young-ish lady, go to bed now. i don't know why u waste your time in a forum full of strangers. u know how dangerous they are.
@ Lady Sarah -> ok, so that is your name. now where's Duke Abraham? & so what u turned 30 last year? i did two months back & i felt so great. ok, so it wasn't so great as a number of friends forgot. but at least my buddies here did.
as for glasses, i only use them for drinking.
kindergarten financier? next thing i'll hear will be Vin Diesel in a Disney movie. i think working with kids are cool though handling their 'accidents' are not. ask Shantara & Galadriel. poor mommies.
& how could u? not sharing pix of your kitties! they must be so ...... what colour are they? bright orange? clean white? soot black? stripy? come now, let us see those cuties.
@ HEF -> u're a very vulnerable person & that makes u an easy target. but positively that makes u such a great person because u care without putting limit on it. live on, aussie cowboy!

right, now's my turn. *ehem*
hello. my name is brandon & i am from Malaysia, particularly from a state called Sarawak (east Malaysia, on borneo island). contrary to most narrow-minded beliefs, i do not live in trees because i already have a house to live in.
i am half Bidayuh (one of the borneo native tribes) half Chinese. i speak Hokkien (chinese dialect), Mandarin (a bit) & a little of my father's; Bidayuh. in case u don't know, i also speak english. mind u, i'm still learning. the official language of Malaysia, malay language is also one of the language i can speak & write. there are a few more languages that i know but because they are of local origins, i don't think u know.
as for work, well i am a techie working in a lab in a college. but i hate talking about work so this is the end of it.
i recalled that i was electrocuted, almost drowned, got hit by a pickup truck etc. many brushes with death & yet here i am. for that i am very thankful to God that i've been given many many chances to live my life fully & not in fear. don't worry , my face & my hair are still ok.
i am not without problems but i don't think i should speak of them here. so let's move on to my hobbies; pc games (especially RPG nowadays), music (almost eclectic like HEF), anime, tropical fish, kitties & being here in the forum.
a single dude, not looking for a girlfriend nor have any concept of it. that means i have never dated nor have a girlfriend ever. poor thing, eh? well not when i've pc games, music, kitties & all. natural loner. doesn't mean i hate company. pet hate? snobs, my hair, helplesness, my moodiness, friends acting cold etc.
i often learn truth of myself when in disaster so i value disaster (while fearing it as well) very much. to the point of being too hard on myself at times.
if according to Lady Rain & her analogy on opinions, which i have quitea few, then that means i have a few as.....s.

I've written this text yesterday or the day before, but was too tired of posting it.
It's quite personal.
Well, I think I should add a few things here.
- I was not born in „The Summer of 69“ (Bruce Springsteen ) , but a few months later. - I’m almost deaf on one ear. - School, the usual stuff. - In the „elementary school“ I was fascinated by Dinosaurs and Fossils. Late in this school, I made a small exhibition of fossils. In a way, I was more scientifocally interested than most of us there. - Theat lead into the others at the elementary school not understanding me. I wasashead of them, tossing things in my head they couldn’t understand and they began treating (and seemingly considering) me as an idiot. - Upgrade to the Realschule. Had fun, until some older ones came into our class and believed they needed me as someone to tease. Mobbing. - Close to psychical breakdown (severe depressions) (as far as I can remember this; I tried to forget everything so my memory about that time is quite blurred now) I got some help by the „Schulpsychologischer Dienst“. - The class ended regularly at the end of the 10th class. - Began writing (in 1983 or 84 , to be exact.) - Around that time my sister was born (1984). - I repeated that year in order to get a normal final exam done - which I needed to go to the Gymnasium - which I couldn’t do earlier. - Upgraded into Gymnasium. Within the first few years arrival of other „bad guys“ trying to tease me. - Repeated that year because of chemistry. - The last years are still the „best years of my life“. I love absolutely everything about it. I could accumulate and discuss knowledge from all fields that were available to me. It was wonderful ! - Made Abitur. Could go to University now. Abitur subjects were : English, Biology, Philosophy, Religion. I still believe that this says a lot about me or even charactersizes me to a good part. - Tried to fulfill my long hobby and began studying Geology / Palaentology. Again problems with Chemistry. Had to break University up. - Meanwhile the late University years went into the Attic Forum, where I met most of the „oldbies“ who are now in the German-language section of this Forum. - Begun training as IT professional. Still like it, but we made our training in the „Golden Years of IT Economy“. As we were finished, hell broke lose, everything went down. - After a few interludiums, I’m still seeking a job as an IT professional. With the number of unemployed people here in Germany up to almost 5 Millions now, it’s extremely difficult to get a job. It’s insane here in Germany now. Especially since it’s typical German nature to complain about everything. Companies are firing people and at the same time telling their shareholders about the masses of money they gained in the last year(s).
- In the mid80s I've made my "bike-tours" with a group lasting about 2 weeks. 1984 the Netherlands, 1985 Netherlands / Belgium, 1986 Bretagne, 1987 France, Atlantic Coast. It left a big impression on me.
- Hobbies : Writing, Reading, Biking, Star Wars, Doinosaus not so much anymore , music (listening), and few other things.
I have seen a lot of things, without going much into the world. I experienced deep feelings that shaped me to what I am today.
Well, I couldn’t write everything down in the style as Tsel does, because I take things quite personally. I’m quite sensitive. That’s just the way it is.
Thare are a few things I still keep to my self, because I consider them to be too private to tell anyone. For example that i fart when I eat too much beans , but also more serious things.
Alrik.

But I agree with you I guess.

*Shakes head relutantly and stares hard at Tsel* Great going Tsel. You would have to start a tread like this. Someone must be fishing for information about me.
OK, guys, since some of you seem to be so curious about me, here is just a little info to either curb your curosity or make you wonder even more.
I live in the U.S. on the east coast, so yes I am one of those crazy Americans that you have all heard about. I am married to the most wonderful guy in the world and we have two precious little girls (at least to us they are precious). I also have two little dogs a pekingese and a yorkie. I love my family and I am very thankful to God for giving them to me. I wouldn't trade them for all the money in the world.
I grew up as an only child, went to a private girl's school (because that is where my mom wanted me to go). When I gratuated from high school, I knew where I wanted to go to college and went there even though my mom wanted me to stay home and go to college in that area. I did the right thing. Why? because that is where I met this fantastic guy and made a decision I will never regret. I decided to marry him.
This is only the second forum I have ever been a part of. My first experience with a forum was on Bioware's NWN forum. I used the name Ashnara there because it was the name of the avatar I used when some friends and I played NWN, SOU, and Hordes multiplayer. And yes we did play Hordes multiplayer. It wasn't the easiest thing to do, but we managed it and had a great time. Now I've got people around here who call me Ash, so far no one has picked up on the Shan thing. Maybe because they are use to Ash or who knows.
As for job, it is computer relatated. I love what I do but I just don't like talking to people about it. I hate Windows and refuse to use it unless I have to. Gaming and the graphic programs that I love force me to use it more than I like. I love Linux, open source, and free software. Now that is all on computers, Linux and Windows. No more talk on this.
Really there isn't that much to tell about me. I am a family person. I love doing things with my family and our friends. Winter is our favorite time of year. We love hiking, skiing and just playing in the snow. I love classical, celtic, and music for my girls. We love folktales, legends, myths, ghost stories, stuff about the solar system, egyptian stuff, old buildings, ancient castles and abbeys, ancient mysteries of the world, and tons of other stuff. We love museums and have a great time when we take the girls along. We love all kinds of art and recently I have just started trying to learn how to draw and having alot of fun with it. I got Corel Painter for Christmas and I want to learn how to drawn and paint with it. I love fantasy art especially the elves, unicorns, and wizards. Also just recently I have gotten interested in anime/ manga art and am trying my hand at drawing some of the charcter heads. I have had a lot of fun with it and so have my girls. My oldest loves to draw and tries her hand at drawing whatever I am working on. She's not bad either and she finishes hers a long time before I finish mine.
Guess that is about all the useless stuff I can think of to tell you about myself. And like Alrik said, I believe there are things that I should be allowed to keep private. So know I don't tell all.
And Jags no going to sleep while reading this.

AND this is really just how you see yourself (so I will have trouble writeing here since I'm not shure how I see myself), not how others see you. And who knows the mystery of mankind? Really? Or the meaning of life? And what am I rambling about? I should stop... Or should I? Maybe I'll come up with something of value... Nah, I'll need a shower anyway.
