If you have the deathknight be a mage, will he automatically cast spells at enemies?

Couple other questions too, I read a little on here that alt-tabbing can mess this up? and when quickloading it pops me back to desktop with a trying to read the cd error (kinda), hitting cancel and switching back in seems to work fine though. And the little screenshots on the load file screen don't show up, is that normal?

Thanks!

I don't think characters will auto-cast magic if they are set to aggressive, though you can give them a bow/crossbow (for weaker enemies or when you run out of mana).
I believe with some spells (ie instant elemental damage, IIRC) you can order the character to attack and they will continue casting the spell (if set as the primary skill), but most spells will not be repeatedly cast.

Alt-tabbing may shift character/NPC positions slightly, which may cause a problem if they move into or through a wall. The patch should reduce the chances of that.

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?
If you load a named save does the game minimize as well?
If you eject the CD, insert it again and wait for it to spin up (or quick load soon after starting the game), does the game minimize when quickloading?

The screenshot will be black if you have FSAA (Full-Scene Anti-Aliasing) enabled in the configuration program.

When quickloading it pops up a small window (that gets focus) which says:

There is no disk in drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR10

shrug, everything seems to be working ok.. I think

and, yes, i think i have anti-aliasing set on.

A quick search on google, and that error can be caused by having a removable drive assigned a drive letter before the end of your hard drives or optical drives. See a similar problem here: the answer to the no disk problem.

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game? That error can be caused on Windows startup by programs like Quicktime that automatically check for updates (see here), so presumably something running in the background monitoring disk access could be causing a problem.

Try deleting the files in the dynamic folders;
'..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act1\Dynamic', '..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act2\Dynamic', etc.
These folders are used as a cache for the game. Files are created / copied there from the save game folder when you load, and written / copied to those folders when you save a game. The files will be re-created as required the next time you start Beyond Divinity. If there was a corrupt file in those folders, deleting the files should fix the problem.

Have you run a ScanDisk or defrag recently? (right click on the hard drive in Windows Explorer, select Properties, switch to the Tools tab, and hit the Check Now button in the Error Checking Status section).
