I am going to bring a relevant point accross, in a very unusual way....

Question:
It is time to elect a new world leader, and your vote counts. Here are
the facts about the three leading candidates:

Candidate A:
Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists.
He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B:
He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whisky every evening.

Candidate C:
He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and hasn't had any extramarital affairs.

Which of these candidates would be your choice?

(i let you all know who the candidates are in real life, in 2 days .... on 30 April 2005 .....)

if candidate A was Winston Churchill you made a mistake... it was not 8 or 10 martinis but whyskies <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" /> ... and no i don't mean any disrespect he was a great man! (ho and yep i'm joking even if it is hardly funny)... edit: just it is possible to drink a quarter whysky (and even more) daily without sleeping till noon

and... ho i vote A, of course... at least if A is competent... excessive "virtue" (plese not the double quote, thanks) has little to do with politics IMO.

PS/ I don't think it is a good idea to give the names in RL if really they exist... but still it is IMHO said.

Well based on that information most people would of course choose C I would imagine, though I know who C is...

However just to put C into context with A and B, C was taking drugs in as many ways as you can possibly imagine someone to take them...oral, injection, depository...and possibly some ways I never heard of.

In Transmetropolitan, Candidate A would be The Beast and Candidate C would be The Smiler.

Mikelangelo: It isn't Hitler. He had affairs both left and right. And I'm pretty shure he's not a vegetarian. And I know nothing about any of the candidates politics, so with the background I have, I choose C, since the other two has drinking problems. Then I might like their politics better than C's (and I'm pretty shure I will), but I don't know that yet, so I take C.

Did you see the movie "Der Untergang"? No? Well, maybe you should, Hitler was a convinced vegeatarian, non smoker and non drinker. I even think that the only thing he drink was water or thea, but I'm not excactly sure of that.
He didn't have any affairs, besides his lover Eva Braun.
Now go to the video store and rent that movie, it will give a very good look into the man that murdered over 7 million people.

i agree with Plowie though, selective info does make a person look good or bad, not that it tells u who he/she really is.

I chose B, he/she seems not to hold back and do what he/she believes in. No keeping up appearences.

Ok, maybe I'm wrong, I thought he didn't have any affairs, but the rest was right wasn't? I don't think I saw any other women in Der Untergang, so I guessed he didn't have affairs.

Yea its selective information..... but i dont think that any of us has the FULL information about the new pope either.... we only know what he has done in the past.... we dont know what he will do in the future....
