Hello, I am new to the forums. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if its imperative to have the manual for Divine Dvinity? A local game store has a used copy for $6, but it does not come with a manual, which has made me a little hesitant. Should I give it a shot or look for a copy that comes with the manual? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Don't worry about the manual ! You can download a manual online of Divine Divinity at Hip Games.
Look at the right side of the page.

Thank you for the tip Barta! I've downloaded it, so I can start looking at it and hopefully pick up the game tomorrow. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

And if you've played RPG's before, you can figure it all out by yourself anyway.

Thanks again for the replies and the warm welcome to the forum, guys. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I downloaded the manual and started browsing through it. Today I returned to the game store and luckily that copy for $6 was still there. In addition to that, I was able to get a copy of Beyond Divinity for $7 too. Not a bad deal I think. Since both were used I was a little concerned but both installed with no issues.

Looking forward to playing both, I plan to start with Divine Divinity first. So you may see me popping in from time to time looking for tips from those of you who already finished. Thanks...

Here are a couple things other forum members have posted.

True Shot and the damage portion of Crossbow Expertise are broke.

Elven Site is much more effective than Ranger Site.

Frost on a weapon (Random Attribute) and Scorpion Traps (Survivor's Deadly Gift Skill) are quite over powered.

yes the scorpions are overpowered. frost in weapons is not. it is useful just like any other skill. but not overpowered.

Actually yes I printed it at work yesterday and started browsing through it. I plan on starting the game this weekend. Of course how far I get depends on my daughter allowing me decent chunks of playing time! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'd just like to point out that I envy the fact that you got Divine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> and <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> for only 13$. I personally know that Divine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> is a great game, and I still have to find <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />.

Have fun!

There is now a budget version of Beyond Divinity which is not too expensive.
If you have some time you can search for a second hand game less expensive.
Good luck.

I could send you a link to a place where you can buy it in Belgium. But you would probably have to pay a lot for shipping. So that it would get to expensive. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

You don't need no stinkin' manual.....Bloody hell, I just found out today that one existed!! LOL
I've got a 45 lvl mage wandering the wastelands...and now I find out there's a manual??
And I bought my game new...or at least I thought I had....$9.99 (Canadian) at London Drugs. Then I went back and bought another for my co-worker's son....
Hmmm..I wonder if I should tell him there's a manual......???

There's the proof, don't trust drug dealers!

&... DON'T use the items with Magic barrier!!
-->pls remember to download the latest version for both games <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Frost is not over-powered - trust me! At hard difficulty, you'll have GREAT difficulty in JUST successfully hitting your opponents. Even if you can get the first hit, if you cannot get the second hit before the frost duration runs out, u'll still be deadmeat~~ (OR maybe it's only an exceptional case for me coz i used the [nocando] sword with Frost too early in the game, abt Lv 12-15... -_-||| )

Hey! I bought DD for $15! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />

When playing easy frost is a bit overpowered. No one on one fight resulted in so much as a scratch when I got one. That includes bosses.

[color:"orange"]At hard difficulty, you'll have GREAT difficulty in JUST successfully hitting your opponents.[/color]

How is your agility? That is what determines your offense and defense, which in turn are used to calculate your chance to hit and be hit. See 'differences between classes' (minor spoilers) for more details.

Playing on normal difficulty, I found a sword with frost on it in the Dark Forest, which made the game a cakewalk. I only used it for a short time, but anything I hit (trolls, lizards, etc) stayed frozen until it died, and at best they could get one hit in on me before I hit them.
