Firefox Advantages 1. More secure than IE 2. More customizable in appearance and function 3. Tabbed browsing 4. More powerful There are so many extensions available that are super cool. I like Adblock--permanently remove any ads or images you don't want to see. miniT--adds drag and drop to tabbed browsing BBC code--adds a context menu to make formatting of your posts more convenient. https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/?application=firefox

I did what Mea told me to do. @ Mea <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kissyou.gif" alt="" /> I downloaded Firefox and it's been much better for my pc. It's not that good looking though as Internet Explorer, but soo much safer...(and it's free!! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys2/Cash.gif) )

Mea used to be a stalwart supporter of IE.
If you don't care for the appearance, there are 98 different skins you can download.

You can't get rid of IE--it is part of the OS. You just uninstall Firefox if you don't like it and you will endure IE once again.

spick > If you install Firefox, you'll be able to run either browser (or both at once, if you like!). You don't have to choose and stick with just one.

Firefox has one problem : The rights management within the program needs to be (over)worked.
The thing is that - as I read - Chrome (the engine, more or less) is allowed to do anything, the layer above it not. It's basically like in IEX. Now, if you find a way to Chrome, you can gain more rights than you houzld be allowed to have ... and there ARE ways, as I read. In that respect, Firefox isn't as secure as IEX, as I read in a magazine, at least in some points. That's partly cause by the false feeling of safety, because Firefox wasn't so much spread up to now.
Nevertheless, I use Firefox - and have an installation of Opera nearby. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
The most safe way of surfing would be using Linux in conjunction with the text-only browser "Lynx". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Drat!!! Al you are getting a little short in your replies ... feeling alright ??? (worried Mea) And yes I used to have IE, but only with a front end (or layer as Al put it) and only because Netscape became unbearable when they made version 6. But Spickey me boy you can even download an extension for firefox that will let you open a given page in IE (certain banking groups insist on using Java script that Firefox dont like) so thus This is the place to get that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
