Short of not going into this camp, is there a way to avoid fighting these soldiers?

I kind of feel "bad" killing off all these soldiers. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Is there some way to attack those casters instead?

there is no way to attack the casters. and if you want to go into the camp, i think that you need to kill the soldiers.

It is good xp if you are low lvl...

You can run out of the camp to avoid fighting and they will eventually return to normal (after you meet one of the 3 casters again).
Since you've already killed them, go check out the billboard beside the castle Stormfist entrance.
