Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) General Help in Act 1.

In act 1 the find a book quest. I've looked at various walkthroughs and none of them explain how to get back to prison level 1 in the arena to get the poison book. Can anyone here tell me how I can get back to the arena?

Normally, you get back to the rooms where once Fergus resided naturally - at the end of Act I. You can even visit all the cells there.

So I guess that's the reason why it isn't mentioned in walkthroughs.

So I'm not quite sure what exactly you mean ...

From the medic's room, head to the far south, and then east, through the DK patrol area to the room where you first entered the citadel, and got the disguise armour off the first guard there. Take the stairs down, and you will be on the starting prison level with the arena.
