Hi I recently bought Divine Divinity on a discount over here in Holland.

So far I love the game (even though it's a bit dated), but I found a serious problem bug causing a crash.

When I equip 1 ring (doesn't matter what), everything goes well... But when I equip a 2nd ring (doesn't matter what) it crashes the game. Every time!!

I am running the game with the latest patch...

How do I fix this...? Cause this is very annoying and degrades my gaming experience a lot!

Thnx in advance.

PS I did a search on the forum; but nothing came up.

Did you try drag-and-dropping the rings into the equipment window, as well as just clicking on them in your inventory?

Can you equip one ring, move it over to the left hand, then equip a second ring, or does the left hand cause a crash regardless of if there is anything in the right hand's slot?

Does the same thing happen in a new game? You should be able to run to Ars Magicana [optionally use iZakaroN's SaveEditor (or from Kiya's site, with description) to boost the character] and use a cheat to get enough gold to buy a couple rings from the mage Kistandalius;
Spoiler : To duplicate stackable items, such as gold or potions, drag a stack out of (or into) your inventory (or container) and hold down the control key before dropping. This will bring up the split stack pane; type in a negative number and hit enter (the checkmark will be greyed out). This can also be done in the trade window. (highlight the text to read)

Yeah I tried both ways. Both result in crashing back to windows

Oops, it has been awhile since I played DD. I remembered swapping rings, but not having to drag the left side ring into the inventory, move the right side ring, and then re-equip the first ring.

Ok, just ran into the same problem.... when equiping a 2nd ring... CTD without fail...

WinXP Sp2 fully updated, Dxdiag perfect, running patch 1.34. Nvidia display card, latest drivers etc... i checked all the stuff that normally makes a difference... no spyware... no viruses, crosschecked all that with various proggies.

hmmm its just irritating, when playing and a dead monster drops a ring, i need to drag it into inventory, otherwise it tries to equip it and crashes....

I even re-installed the game, loaded my save and the same thing

Another thing i noticed.... (not that it bothers me too much), is that i cant swop weapons quickly... i physically have to unequip the 1 weapon and then equip the next, otherwise it just wont change it.

First of all, Hello.

Just encounted the same issue regarding the equiping of the second ring. Not sure what actually causes it, but it tends to be as soon as the "ping" sound of the ring being equiped (when you right click it to auto-equip). However, Click 'n' Dragging the accursed ring doesn't cause the CTD of hate.

Regards,

Valechor.

Well, at least there is a workaround for the problem in your case.
