Larian Studios Forums General Chat Chat (Anything) What a waste...

It's weird. While I have always felt like a part of the Larian community, I really haven't been. I haven't made the time to be. I check these forums while I'm at work, and because I'm at work, I want to get it over and done with quickly. I have work to do (not that I necessarily do it) and I don't want to be busted spending all day on the Internet. Any post longer than half a screen rarely receives my attention. Why? Laziness. I want a simple escape for a while, not an in depth discussion that may take up my time.

Being in the Larian community is an excuse to escape and escape is an excuse for not working. I used to enjoy this forum a lot. I'd come in and get involved with other members and issues. Now I scan for a few headings of interest. Which headings? Those that are new and possibly interesting, and those that help me escape some more.

Now I know that there is a chunk of this forum that is crap <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> and not worth the time, but I'm overlooking or not participating in topics that I do find interesting because the sheer volume of it scares me. I don't want to sit and read for 20 minutes while I'm escaping. I want a quick fix. Strange how I never feel satisfied...

So I am going to choose to be more involved. I will spend the time to read through the issues properly and give them my full attention. I'm going to do it because I enjoy being part of this community, and in the last couple of years, I haven't enjoyed it. I've squandered it. I may not be here as often, but it will be more involved than I have been previously.

HEF, does that mean u will re-engage Manatopia project? i have many many ideas on the sidelien but none yet to take off as i also have put it off for 'obvious' reasons, such as laziness.

OT: I have been doing the exact same HEF, I check sometimes when I'm at work or sometimes at home. But don't participate in large meaningfull topics anymore. But I have my theory on this lack of lack of interest and time I/(we) use to make to read all those topics.

The forum isn't as active as it's used to be, its very quiet around DD2 and rarely new members do travel english chat parts of these forums. After all these years we been here we know eachother somewhat, and now wich opinions we have on certain topics, so all these threads that've been done is some way over and over again there is nothing other in it than what you expect.

I used spend hours a day writing on here. and might do that again, we'll see. When DD2 comes nearer more new individuals will reach these regions, different ideas, different opionions. And things will get more active again and feed our interest. Not to mention all the talking about DD2, the game that has to be done.

This is on another topic. Manatopia pissed me off. There was significant interest in the project in the beginning, but most people who said they would participate didn't. By all means, the project is still runnings. If you'd like to participate, please do. I cannot write it all and those who have participated so far have done as much as could be expected at this point. If you want to play, then make a commitment by starting yourself in the story. You don't need to make a revelation in the story, just declare your position. It will help everyone continue the story.

We put a lot of work into Manatopia so far. If you don't want to continue, that's fine, don't. If you do want to continue, then just continue it. Don't ask permission, just do it and enjoy! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
