i've moved on from DD to BD and at the moment just getting dtarted. i do, however, have a few questions about the battlefield aspect of the game;

- i got up to battlefield level 2 before entering. has this limited anything? i.e have i gone passed the level 1 aspect?

- i obtained the 4 generated quests form the villagers to the west of the battlefield and moved into the 1st flagged area. on completing this i only managed to solve 1 quest. are the solutions to the rest of the quests further on into the battlefield? the reason i ask is that the deeper most chamber (3 levels down) was empty, bar the solution to the 1 quest!!! it all seemed too easy and a little waste of time.

many thanks,

I suggest you download the Beyond Divinity Strategy Guide. It contains a whole chapter on the Battlefields and will surely answer a lot of your questions.

In Act1 there are 3 dungeons (with 3 levels each) in the battlefield. Each battlefield key you find in the main game, will unlock 1 dungeon... (thus there will be 3 keys).
You found 2 so far, so there is still 1 locked dungeon... and probably this one will have most of the quest solutions <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

(from act 2 onwards there will be 6 dungeons, instead of 3)

The battlefields are randomly generated when you enter them the first time in each act... there is no telling in which dungeons the quest solutions will be.... they are normally on the 3rd leel of a dungeon.... but there is no limit to in which dungeon they are... sometimes you will find most of the solutions in 1 dungeon, and the rest of them empty.... other times they are evenly spread....

hope this helps <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Say you have access to the Battlefields Level 1 and then you find a key for Level 2. If you haven't played level 1, are you still able to do so?

The level BF key you find determines the number of dungeons which will be open. The only difference between entering the BF after finding the first key and after the second is that in the first case only the first dungeon will be open, while in the second the first two dungeons will be.

The only potential issue with leaving the lower level dungeons too long is you may level up enough in the main game that you get little or no experience for the lower level opponents. See;
Act 2 - not getting exp in BF

The BF dungeons are optional; I only used the BF for the traders.
