Ok i created this topic, to see what all the forum members are doing at theire work. and maybe people can ask all sorts of questions to eachother, like how does it work...etc..
I'm Bean, And i work in a chemical plant at "Tessenderlo Chemie". we have different plants on lokation wich produces different chemicals. i work in 2 differend plants. in one of the plants this happens: by electrolyse from salted water (Brine), we create hydrogen gas (H2), chlorin gas (Cl2) and Caustic Soda (NaOH). wich will be used to make other products.
nice to know is that we use almost 2% of the entire energy consumption in Belgium for this process (it was something about 88 Mega Wats), there flows an current of 360.000 AMPS trough the elektrolysing cells, witch produces an enormous magnetic field. hammers and keys just "stick" on the device
what i do is sitting in a controlroom, monitoring the process and changing settings /switching to manual if nessesary. then i also work on the "field" witch basicly is mananging the plant outside the control room. switching big copressors/motors, making saples of the product and analise them in the labority etc. very nice job, althou very dangerous, with all these acids etc..

I'm a cleaning woman in a high school. I spend three days in a week there. too much if you ask me, but a girl has to do something to earn a penny, doesn't she? Since two of my collegues are in recup from being operated, I took over most of their jobs. So, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen (but lucky for the teachers, I don't cook dinners ) And the rest of my time, I have to clean the dorms of the kids that stay here for the week. So, that's about it folks, nothing interesting to read and surely nothing exiting.
But, if I may ask all of you guys and girls: Please, take care of your garbage, keep the toilets clean, and if you spill some coffee, clean it up before it dries in. The cleaning ladies at your job or school sure appreciate the repect you show them. And talk to those ladies once in a while, we like to be treated as humans too. I speak for all the cleaning ladies here. Thank you.

Gal, i hope u don't mind me saying this - u are NOT a cleaning woman. it is your job as a cleaning woman.
& so my turn - i work as a techie/lecturer in a college. my job involves maintaining 2 labs (1 engineering, 1 computer) as a techie, lab assistant & administrator, which means i do menial jobs as well as making executive decisions. yeah, weird, huh? it's a small college after all. & being with computers most of the time, i get to teach engineering students computers, particularly end-user computing (which is basic stuff). i refuse to teach programming on grounds that i'm not trained to do so (actually i hate programming).
work can be so easy but once problems start to hit, my hands will be full. thankfully those are rare. only the routine job of being a teacher has almost constant workload (prepare teaching materials, checking students' works, exam papers etc).

I finished university last year. I studied Dutch and (mainly) English literature at the University of Antwerp. This year I'm doing a 'Master after Master': an extra year of studies to obtain the degree of 'Master of Literary Studies'. This is an interuniversity study, so now I attend the universities of Antwerp, Ghent and Leuven. I spend quite some time on the train, but it's nice to get around
I am in blood Stepp'd in so far, that, should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o'er.

I'm a webdeveloper at a company doing promotional B2B services, simply said our main activity is creating digital print files for one company to have it produced by another. For example personalised fluorisent (reflective) safety jackets, we create the files so someone else can create the jackets. And since my arrival we do more and more website design and creation.
Back to work have to make some changes to a GPS interface.
It's one of these days...

I'm a jobless IT-Professional (i guess this is the right description) - what is called in German "IT-Fachinformatiker" with a tendency to the profession "IT-Systemelektroniker" which I learned more or less both during my training (having begun as the Systemelektroniker and later got the chance to change towards the Fachinformatiker group). Which means I'm able to work with PCs and have learned programming. Due to the fact that no company wanted me (somwhow missed to slip in when times were good, now they are really bad, imho), I've come a bit out of practising. Anyone who is in need of a person like me can apply here.

Well as many of you likely know I am in Officer in the US Air Force. I am currently responsible for about 70 people. Most of them are mechanics. We are responsible for tracking and repairing all the vehicles on base which rounds out to about 600 vehicles...and that comes out to about 2.3 million dollars of equipment. So yeah I stay pretty busy.

Basically I run the testing department, check the online training we make here...
Some of it so incredibly boring, but at least you get to take a mental break on the web and such.

I was at a New Apprenticeship Centre until recently. But they were going broke and I was both invaluable (I did a lot more than my salary suggests) and non-essential (I didn't bring in any revenue.) It was sort of a Business Analysty, Software Developy, Data Managementy, company wide support role. And with some luck, I'll be in another one shortly where they pay me a lot closer to what I'm worth. I'd been looking for a new job for a few months anyway.

Wow, it's so interesting to read what everyone does for a living. Keep them comin' @ Nero Those vehicles you talked about, are those F16's ? I was a militairy guard at the airforce base for 3 years. And I know how expensive those toys are. I almost hit one in a wild "jeeprace"
