I played the demo and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now they've just announced that the game is finished and available 1st quarter 06. Anyone know where I can pre-order it? http://www.cypron-studios.com/gli.html

yes it's depend on the time you down load it. the first time it was around 50kB/sec (corrupt copy) the second time it was around 320KB/sec with just 4 houre in between
but the controls are a bit on the slow side, with the mouse pointer , you have to "touch" the border of you screen, but because i have a wide screen, it takes ages to reach the other side. and after playing 5 minites a got a "sick" feeling and had to stop playing.

Thats a real shame bean, because the games strong point is its visuals. Im not sure what u mean by the mouse pointer.

Im not sure what u mean by the mouse pointer. you can move, but only left/right. with the eyes in front.(strave) if you want to walk to the left and you want to see that movement you made,= eyes following the feet, then you have to point the mouse to the border of the sccreen (standard= hold the right mouse botton) and you turn with your feet.

hmm yeah it looks like the download site is erm like real low bandwidth, first time I tried it happily sat on 1 % for about an hour then it collapsed, second time i got it to DL the whole thing in about 1` hour and 28 on dsl, but the file was corrupted, so now I have happily given up ...heh after all if it is any good it will turn up on a Magazine DVD

What do you have against turn-based fighting ? I'm sick of all this real-time stuff ! - And what's more, my first RPGs had turn-based combat !
I clearly prefer turn-based combat - it's a thing for the brain, like Chess : You can plan ahead ...

Its turn based fighting like this: click attack, get attacked, click attack, get attacked, click attack, defend to get atk point, use potion, they do more damage then your potion healed, you die.
Turn based fighting like in HoMM is really good

Do you know Age of Wonders ? This is turn-based strategy I like most.
I've "grown up" concerning RPGs with turn-based combat. I mean *real* turn-based :Not this "Pause-key"-pseudo-turn-based-combat. In the "Realms of Arcania" series, there is real turn-based combat - which I prefer of all.

Cypron studios have posted a new demo, i have played both and the new demo is by far much more enjoyable. The new demo will give u a taste of whats expected in the full game.
About the turned base combat, it may be simple at the beginning but u gain more fighting options as you increase level making combat more tactical ( u also gain a follower later on )
Im really looking forward to this game, as soon as the english full version is out ill be buying it.
Also cypron studios are busy making the offical website for the game, with forum etc.

Turn based combat? Can't say I like that at all. It's usually an interest killer for me, unless the game has a LOT more going for it in other areas. I'll wait for a few reviews.

What's so wrong with a nice, decent turn based comnbat of the brains ?

What's so wrong with a nice, decent turn based comnbat of the brains ? My favourite game genre is RTS, and of that genre I play the Total War games most. Armies of thousands, no pause (Or none I use - too much like cheating) and an enemy that will jump on any error I make with fiendish efficiency. You can guess how little challenge I find when I'm only dealing with a small group or single character and I have infinite time to make the call. If you love turn based games - good for you But they are not my thing, except for some very rare exceptions. If the game has a great story, I'll suffer through turn based. If not...
