Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Quest HELP: Find the truth about Tingalf :(

This is the quest given by Trevor in the Merchant guild after my warrior becomes a member of the guild.(Of course, i think i can choose NOT to initiate this quest) Remained "broken"...

So, the whole thing goes like that:
I got the quest "Find the clues about wares" from Markus AFTER seeing the burning cart scene BUT WITHOUT showing the note dropped by an assassin in the hideout cave --> I failed to follow the blood trail <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />
And then, I got the above quest from Trevor and then went back (finally found...) to the hideout cave the kill those two assassins and GOT the note. However, the quest "To Rivertown" didn't show up. So, i just went to talk to Markus and Tingalf to get the quests like "Tingalf", "Nearby Depot" and "The Black Market Depot". And yes, i got "Find the suppliers for Tingalf" from Robin long, long ago...

Later on, I went down to the sewer and kill Pedro and got the note dropped by him and showed to Markus, Robin and Trevor... BUT there WASN'T any dialouge choices from Trevor which can solve the quets (grrr...) & I loaded the game and showed FIRST to Trevor the note (i.e. Tingalf still remained unlocked by Robin)and also nothing happened!

Anyone can help with this one? really appreciate your help!

This is a tricky one: it gets broken easily. The problem is that certain things must be done in a certain order for this quest to succeed in its entirety. Look here for a detailed description. Perhaps you can still fix your problem.

That shouldn't make any difference. I had Tingalf arrested before I entered Verdistis, and had no problems with Trevor. After accepting the quest to look into the suspected black market dealer, I just had to talk to Trevor again right away to be able to say I had Tingalf arrested.

Yes! i am able to solve AFTER getting Tingalf arrested and talk to Trevor.

And one more question: I still have one quest remained unsolved: Find the missing boy.

I got it from a woman named Adelina upon arriving Ars Magina. And then i go and help Sir Markham to fight off some trolls and hence got the quest "Investigate the dark cave". Later on, I went to the dark cave and got bitten by the vampire and killed it and then report to Sir Markham for a free Bless skill. BUT still, all related quests are solved but the above one. I've already visited the kiya1 site but still cannot find what i want. Anyone, please?

Did you find and talk to Adelina again after freeing her son? She should still be around Ars Magicana, IIRC.

You killed the vampire or at least released the boy, so you should be able to finish the quest. But is it not possible you are talking about Caroline, not Adelina? That's the name of the woman I got the quest from. You can find her where it says '3' on the picture below. Talk to her again and you get your XP <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I just remembered: you probably found them, but anyway: get the Boots of the Vampire in the Dark Cave! They are the best ones in the game. My stats on them the last time I played were:

Boots of the Vampire

Durability 10
Weight 20

5 Percent Chance of Absorbing Damage

+80 to Vitality[/color]

Remember: when you are about to find great equipment: you can quick-save and reload if you don't like the stats on a particular item <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kitty.gif" alt="" />

After reloading the game TWENTY-TWO times, I finally got the boots of vampire i want..... Phew~ Nevertheless... the nightmare begins- My boots of vampire has the 'curse' of +1 to magic barrier <--- i DID NOT realize this bug still existed then, in fact, I was 'overjoyed' that magic barrier was one of the bonuses it includeed. Right now, still uanable to download the item editor, i think i just leave my 'cursed' boots in one of my personal chests <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

I think i prefer + skills more to + charms items ---> There is ALWAYS simply not enough gold charms to use! So far, I only collected 5 gold charms(3 used)at LV 28. Yeah, i know silver charms can be bought but i would prefer the best :Þ

Did you try my links to the direct downloads for the item editor in your Magic Barrier topic? If they don't work your ISP is probably caching a corrupt version of the file. In that case, I can upload the files somewhere else for you to get.


Before performing the blessing ceremony to move on to the wastelands, I found 6 gold charms, and found or bought 59 silver charms. In the wastelands, I found or bought another 60 gold charms.

That's not much. The wastelands are full of them. (Well, dead imps have lots on them.)

lol I reloaded 40+ to get the one hand weap I wanted, from that quest where you can choose between a dagger/amulet/sword...it's been damn ages since I've played this game :P
and I've replayed the game through more then once :P
