Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Why can't I pick up herbs and mushrooms?

Hi everyone. I just recently got this game and started playing it. It's wonderful so far but the only problem that I've encountered is all the herbs, mushrooms and the like growing around the first town. I do like the instructions say and highlight them with my cursor (making sure I'm close enough to them to begin with) but I can't pick them up and put them in my inventory. They glow white when I'm right by them and have the cursor over them plus I'm keeping the left button pressed down but I don't get a ghost image to drag to my inventory. What am I doing wrong? Try this instead...

Make sure you have at least 2 points invested in the alchemy skill.. only 1 point wont allow you to make your own potions YET

Level 1 alchemy - You can combine 2 potions to make another (i.e. drag blue over red and make white)
Level 2 alchemy - You can make SMALL potions (Drag a small empty flask from your inventory onto the mushrooms / herbs and the flask will fill up with whatever potion you have just made)
Level 3 alchemy - You can make medium potions (same method, but use a medium flask)
Level 4 alchemy - you can make large potions (same method, but use a large flask)
Level 5 alchemy - You can augment potions (make existing potions larger, by draging them out of the invetory onto an Augment herb)

In Beyond Divinity you need alchemy plants to make potions (SPOILER: Alchemy - create/combine potions). Herbs and mushroom are not usable.

BTW, there are separate forums for Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity.

Level up in Alchemy! Of course, I should have thought of that! Although I don't think that I would have thought of dragging an empty flask over the herbs first. I kept thinking that you'd have to pick them and have them in your inventory to be able to combine them. Thanks so much everyone!!
