It is the sword from the introductory movie.

You can't do anything with it, it just looks familiar ...

I think it's simply Seth's sword, Brightblade. Probably he has been killed.

No, as Raze pointed out, it's the sword your character lost fighting with the orc from the introductory movie.

It is not Seths sword, you never even see him die, how can you conclude that it is his at all???

It's also very mature to keep bringing it up, isn't it?
Just leave it all alone. This topic's finished. We all now know that the weapon is the weapon in the Introduction movie. We also know that Seth can be killed, but that's where that is left.
Just leave the maturity and flaming discussions alone.

Seth's sword can be fairly good for early in the game, but there are lots of other swords available, so you are not missing anything if you pass on murdering the only person protecting the town while you are gone. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> You can kill Seth using Poison Cloud (cast near, but not directly on him) so he does not turn hostile and attack. If you wait a few seconds after he is dead to save, you can bring him back to life ( Reviving dead NPCs). Testing the revive procedure, I killed and hex-resurrected Seth a few times, so he dropped multiple copies of Brightblade. A couple of these were relatively nice and could have come in handy when I first left Aleroth, but by the time I got close to finishing the escort quest I already had a comparable sword.

I mean I knew you could bring someone back to life but not that they'd drop the same item twice.
