I killed Lord of lies but I saw nothing. No video and no sign that the quest has been solved. Also I can see the slain body of the Lord of lies. Is it a bug or I must wait for something more (i.e. Lord of Chaos)? Anyway I think I was waiting enough but I saw nothing. To make matters worse Zankalor still insists that I must kill Lord of lies!!

Did you use death scorpions or something similiar? some spells and items cancel the ending movie. If you have a save before defeating the demon of lies, try just attacking him with your weapon. that should work.

Is the demon of lies hung in mid death animation, with light coming out? That can happen in an unpatched game if a trap or summoned creature delivers the killing blow, and possibly (IIRC) if he is killed by a weapon with Frost on it. Try reloading and killing him again yourself, as Isorun suggested, or install the patch (probably not worth the download unless you will be playing again at some point).

You could also try using an area effect spell that doesn't need a target (such as Hell Spikes) on the demon, though I'm not sure if that would help.

Thanks. I used blind against Lord of lies, then I took control of the overlord with command aura, overlord started summoning death knights and consequently I had only to eat some pop-corn and watch. I consider the side-effect as a bug. After your responces I decided to kill Lord of lies without any help and it was really easy: When summoned cretures become too many you should run away. Lord of lies is much faster than the summons so you can deal with him. I do believe that the guy had to be much stronger and don't expect everything from his (really horrible) summoning.

Anyway the game is great and definetely much better than Diablo.

While the Demon of Lies fight wasn't very hard (I just attacked him and ignored the summons), be was twice as tough as the next strongest opponent in the wastelands. I used 1 minor restoration potion fighting Moriendor, 2 with the Demon of Lies, and that was it for healing potions in the wastelands (I did use a couple more restoration potion to recover mana for Repair and Lockpick). I had LifeDrain on my sword and maxed Survivor's Instinct upon entering the wastelands (to use up some skill points) and that was more than enough healing for most of the rest of the game.

It was partly my fault the wastelands were easy, though, since I reloaded for major equipment to get the best stats.

When I re-loaded the game to check my stats without any equipment, I figured 'no guts, no glory', cast Heaven's Blessing for the one and only time in the game (another skill I used some spare skill points on), and re-did the fight with the Demon of Lies. It took 106 minor restoration potions and a couple minutes, but I killed him barehanded, with no armour.

BTW the publisher rushed the release of the game, so the wastelands ended up being straight hack and slash. I agree with you, though; despite a bit of a weak finish it is a very good game. Larian did the last act of Beyond Divinity first, so if they ran into similar time constraints (they didn't) it wouldn't hurt the end of the game.

Im playing a barbarian character with stun and it took me 50 minor restoration potions with my hammer.

The problem with Jose/Moriender is they cast blind.

So unless you prevent them from doing so your in for a tough fight.

I routinely used swirl attack when they were invisible..it worked. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I also had problems with blind so I decided to blind them first.
