Another predicament.

I have retrieved the saphire key for the locked chest in the Shaman's house, and tried the trick where the DK stands by the door, I unlock the chest, DK walks out bringing me away from the insect swarm.

However, when I go back in, the chest is locked again and I can't open it.

I tried picking up the Alchemy Mixture and paused and drank potions while fending off the insects. Even lived thru that, but to no avail. After the insects disappeared, the chest was locked once more.

Hmmmmmmmmm Am I spinning my wheels on this?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

When the chest opens, is there anything of value in it? You can not take anything with the game paused, but at least you can see what is there. I generally didn't get much (ie a potion and couple pieces of gold).

Did you install the patch before starting your current game? I just re-tried having one character exit the hut to teleport both away from the trap (in a game started before the latest patch), and it worked fine. I doubt the patch is part of the problem, though.

I am using the latest 1.47 Patch.

I haven't been able to see inside the chest. That's an interesting point. I guess the chest lid should pop open, if I have in fact unlocked the silly thing. I'll try it out this morning!

Sure enough, the chest wasn't opening. For an excellent reason...

I didn't have the right key!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> I was using the one I picked up from the cupboard next to the chest. Nope! The correct sapphire key is on the chest at the north wall.

Pfffft So I succeeded in opening the chest and found a... TADA
