Not entirely unexpected. Good thing an upgrade is on the horrizon. Along with the wedding, house, furniture, ...

as for me, an upgrade is not really desirable unless i have the money for it. my ATi radeon 9000 Pro has been with me for less than a year even though it is not new, i am sad that my investment might not last as long as i like it to be.

5700 is better, I think. But graphiccards are a jungle. Check Wikipedia on the GF 5 serie (search for GeForce, and find the GF 5 link in the text) and see if they have any info on that matter.
And at least I have the minimum requirements !

I predict a crash sometime in the future, as the prices of the graphic cards needed to run these latest games with insane requirements will force most people to fall further behind and thus huge chunks of possible game sales will be missed.
Just like myself not buying Oblivion because I could never run it. I wont be getting this game either.

well, i tried wikipedia, and it looks like there is no Geforce 5 instead it is called Geforce FX, so i think 5700 is better then a 5600ultra.
Is there a demo of NWN you can download somewhere?
EDIT: i downloaded the demo, and i'm currently playing through the acadamy. like is it worth to buy NWN or do i wait till NWN2 comes out?

don't buy it, there isn't as many people online as there were back then, plus the campaign is boring
just wait for nwn2

just wait for nwn2 I disagree! NWN's single player campaign seemed somewhat simplistic because we were all used to Baldur's Gate I and II at the time, but in the end you'll have a lot of fun and the two expansions are much better than the original campaign. I'd still advice to buy this game any day, especially the platinum edition.
I am in blood Stepp'd in so far, that, should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o'er.

NWN2's story is separated from NWN1, so you don't have to worry about that. Besides, there's not much story in the first game anyway . And Macbeth, it wasn't somewhat simplistic. It was just an exuse to go kill stuff. And that's not what a story is supposed to be like, and I hope Obsidian share this view. Übereil

And Macbeth, it wasn't somewhat simplistic. It was just an exuse to go kill stuff. Sorry, but that's BS. The story of NWN is quite good and the two expansions are very good. And in good D&D tradition the game is certainly not just about 'killing stuff', that's a gross over-simplification.

Then how come pretty much the only thinkg you did in chapter one was kill stuff? I don't recall a single quest that didn't involve killing something.

Then how come pretty much the only thinkg you did in chapter one was kill stuff? I don't recall a single quest that didn't involve killing something. That's because chapter one is the most linear one and a bit uninspired. For me the game really began once you left Neverwinter. Once you were outside the city you could really start to explore the big world out there and the quests became much more varied. You could compare it to Divine Divinity: first you have to plough through that big dungeon beneath Aleroth which can be somewhat of a turn-down, but once you leave the town the game really picks up. The bottom line is that if you can find this Platinum Pack for a reasonable price you buy countless hours of fun time RPG. I say do it. You won't regret it.

Strange, all I did in act 1 was fighting. Might have been because I stopped playing in act 1 due to all the fighting...
What I remember from seeing about my brother playing NWN1, hi didn't seem to do much but fighting either.
