Hi together,
and hi especially to the Larian team.
Allthough my question is not about a real problem , I suppose you are the only, who can give me the answere.
I use a tool called Security Task Manager (www.neuber.com) to find out what slows down my machine and what processes I can get rid off.
This tool also rates the security risk of processes and lists drivers of all kind. It has found one named jswmidin.sys directly in the root and rates it to potential dangerous (94% danger).
The strange thing is that it states Divine Divinity as owner. So I let it put in quarantine and tried to start DD and also BD. Both worked fine as usual.
My simple question is: does it really comes with DD or BD? And if so, what for is it?

Thanks in advance

The file jswmidin.sys is not associated with either DD or BD (nor is it present on my c: drive). DD does not install anything outside of its own folder (aside from a registry entry so patches can find the install path). BD installs Starforce copy protection drivers, but I'm pretty sure that is it except for its own folder and a registry entry.

The task manager program appears to be right about the potential danger, according to a quick Google search (see here). I'd run a virus scan to make sure the task manager completely quarantined it. As for DD, there is a file verification procedure in the troubleshooting tips topic, so you can make sure the game has not been infected.
