Just a quick question. Now that I,m finishing NWN's 1 for the umpteenth time.

I was wondering how it compares?

Should I just be downloading the add on's or just go an get NWN's 2?

Tanks!!

Both.

Some of the downloads for NWN1 are very good. Just have a look at the top rated downloads. Many of them are made for multiplayer. While I've never liked multiplayer games, the co-operative play in NWN made them very fun. Even the single player modules are great. They're definately worth the time to download them.

NWN2 looks very good, and I'm hoping they sort out some of the drawbacks in NWN1. I'll be upgrading my PC and buying it. Mind you, I am a DnD fan.

Stridar, you should download the add ons since NWN2 isn't out yet (sad but true ).

Adam Miller and his 6 or is it 7 part series Starting with the Shadow Lord serie
and also try
Dave Mason and his trilogy excellent stuff

Well. I decided to wait for more add on's, then I'll consider NWN'2.

So I decided to play NWN'1 as a Rogue, talk about tough.

I don't know about that, there are some nice rough archerbuilds out there (combind it with shadowdancer so you can fade from plain sight and you can really use your backstab bonus ). Allso use a henchman with good meleepower, and you will (hopefully...) do fine.

But how should I know, I only got to act 2 .

You could wait for reviews, patches and so on before purchasing the game. Then again it is a big title, so you know support will be solid. They will want to make everyone happy before they start pushing out expansions. Unless they wait for expansions to do any major changes.

Anyone else buy this yet?

The new base class is fun to play (warlock) I havent gotten very far into the story yet but the game is fun so far. The only complaing I have is that when you are indoors you see items that hang from the cieling so alot of the time when you are indoors your character is completely obscured...other than that the gameplay is solid.

It has some minor glitches gameplaywise, and I think most quests are a tiny bit too simple (simple as in: go meet this guy, talk to him, go back to the guy you got the quest from=>finnished). The dialog is solid though, and so is the story.
¨
Nero, do you have Objects Fade crossed in the options window? That's supposed to make objects transparent when you try and see through them .

seems like the opposite of gothic 3, gothic 3 has deep quests and bad dialogs.

NWN2 is certainly on my list btw, but first im playing gothic 3, after that Dark messiah and after that NWN2

Too many good games atm

Neverwinter Nights 2 is waiting for a new computer. Hopefully they'll find and sort out any bugs by then.

I ran across a rumor that NWN2 or a patch for it doesn't run with AMD processors or so.

Yeah you are right Al, although 1.02.809 aint really a Patch but more of a hot fix, and yes it can play havoc with (my beloved) AMD processor and since the hotfix isn't really necessary, for the SP campaign why bother d/l the 85 mb

Just wait for the next one and prolly they will remove that silly secure rom thingy too

Well, thanks. The picture looks a bit clearer now.

Beyond Good & Evil initially didn't run on AMD processors at all - too much use of SSE then, I suspect. (At that time.)

I am having issues gettin fighters to be able to dual wield(getting the two weapon feats)...I know that for the two weapon fighting feat you have to have a dex of at least 13 are there any other requirements like a level restriction or anything?

Looking at the book:
Two-Weapon Fighting: No prerequisits.
Ambidexterity: Dexterity 15.
Improved Two-Weapon Fighting: Ambidexterity, Two-Weapon Fighting, Base Attack Bonus +9.

Ambidexterity doesn't exist in NWN2. Instead there are three feats, called two weapon fighting, improved two weapon fighting and greater two weapon fighting. There are allso two weapon defence and improved two weapon defence...

The requirement is the following TWF: dex 13, ITWF Base attack bonus: +6, dex 15, GTWF: base attack +11, dex 19 (and ofc the lower feat ie TWF is required for ITWF).

Note that you can get all those feats for free as a ranger who focuses on the Two weapon fighting style . All you have to do is get a ranger lvl 11 and only use light armor...

All found in the manual. Download the manual here!
