Heh yet you are not willing to pay 15 bucks for playing the game, but you are willing to buy items/pixels from ebay for it? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

No you can't screw them up, the only thing you can mostly do wrong in rpg's is putting your skills/attributes wrong, there are no attributes in WoW so no worries about that and skills or in WoW words Talents have to be placed yourself, but there are enough builds online to get a good one and even if you make a wrong one still no worries because for a couple of gold you can replace all your talents.
It all depends on how you play your character and also on equip, but you get equip by instancing and by instancing you get better playing your character and thats something you can't buy, even if you buy a uber char on Ebay you will still be a newbie at start, just make sure you have someone accompaning you on your quests and it won't be that boring.
I had a friend who was online at the same hours as me and we always teamed up, so we could always chat with eachother that helps alot.

WoW is an absolutely terrible game if you are looking for PvP...the PvP is worthless in WoW

It's not that bad atleast when you are on a server with a very short queque (or how is it written) if you have to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes to join a battleground then yes, it is indeed a pain in the [nocando]

Patch 1.12 will give cross realm pvp, so the queues should be greatly reduced! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

If you buy World of Warcraft you're gonna need to buy the Burning Crusade expansion also. I think that's coming out in November and should change a lot of stuff, including PVP.

Why "burning" crusade ? Doesn't the cliché say that *all* crusades have something to do with burning ?
Why no "soapy crusade" or "hugging crusade" or or "slippery crusade" or "stoney crusade" (hello, Mr. Barbarian <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> ) or whatever ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Nah, crusade are mostly bloody and crewl but burning also plays a role.
Anyway, I find pvp quite good in WoW, It's not that hard to beat a higher level player, offcourse if he or she isn't such a good player as you. But indeed if you just one PvP buy guildwars (factions)
I find no level boring to play, I'm a roleplayer I try to find other roleplayers have some fun and maybe do quests together. Whenever questing or grinding starts to bore me I go in town and start roleplaying. You just have to invent a personality and small background story for your char and of you go, have fun roleplaying.
There are several reasons to buy WoW - A lot of quests - Regular updates, new content - Some good roleplaying realms and guilds - Even more itemfever than Diablo II - Friendly palyers willing to help, not to much bullies - Good PvP system with honor ranking, battlegrounds or just in the world (many but not all zones).
but for pure PvP? not the best mmorpg
It's one of these days...
