What confuses me is that i have recently teached one of my summoning dolls a elemental missle but it is doing alot less damage then i thought it would do (thought: 50-100 actual: 11-17?). Is there any factors involved and are there ways to improve the damage rate?

So you learnt the spell up to level 5 (ie 52-112 damage)? Level 2 is 14-30 damage.

Check the stats of an opponent in the trophy section of your diary, and see what their armour class and resistances are. A fire missile, for example, will do much less damage to a fire demon compared to a water demon.

Starting in act 2 there are more powerful and more mana efficient spells available, particularly shaman magic.

question: the resistences are 2 agaenst fire for most of my enemies. I am at the post-game BF. if the resistences are that weak, why won't the spell won't do more damage?

and what is the equation for calculating damage reduced by resistences?

Lastly, is there any factor which will help me do more damage?

I'm not sure why the spell isn't doing as much damage as anticipated, or any way to increase the damage (other than raising the level or using a more effective spell). It is a relatively low level spell, so maybe that makes it less effective against high level opponents?
Pretty much the only mage spells I used were for healing, though, so I'm not sure what kind of damage should be expected.

Larian has not revealed any of the formulas used to calculate damage, and working backwards from the observed damage would be rather tedious.

I didn't play much of the after-game BF. In the main game just before entering the final rift I had my DK unlearn all skills and then invest everything into summoning doll upgrades (levels and skill point transfer). I then upgraded the act 1 skeleton doll, the only doll that can use a ranged weapon (crossbow).

Does your character do more damage with the same spell? I've never had that problem, but it could be that for some reason the dolls aren't as powerful with magic at the same skill level as your character (which is weird 'cause the doll themselves are magical...)

yes. I hoping that larian studios will release the formulas to figuring out damage rates so I won't have to go around and wasting my skill points.
