After the Earth was shook from the release of OBlIViON, months passed and all was yet again the same and the land knew no excitement. Is anyone looking forward to the new games that are coming out rpg, mmorpg or non rpg? Are we still playing PST, the game I never had a chance to play or obilvion?
World of Warcraft (WOW) World of Warcraft has been out for quite some time. This mmorpg forces you to choose one side Horde or the Alliance if you choose to play on a pvp server. We all would if we liked to live life on the edge, it’s like ultra hard chaos mode if you’re in to that sort of thing (I like games that pose a challenge but are not impossible). You could also join a pve server and not be in almost constant danger. WOW is a mmorpg and in this game there isn't really much to do after you level up to level 60 with your chosen class. You could hope to join a raid and gather great equipment of power and battle great fearsome foes or compete to have a high score by racking up as much honor from pvp kills as you can. You can join a guild and make new online friends or just have fun crushing your opponents with your character. That’s pretty much it. The graphics are cartoonish, The Music is kind of um uninspiring and it’s hard to find a group unless you actually see people in the same area since the lfg channel has been merged zone wide. Like Most fantasy rpgs the rules are less realistic and more unrealistic. The customer support is nonexistent and the in game tech support which are named GM's or game masters are not always on. I Have played Wow this long cause one of my close friends plays this game and I like to hang out with each and all of my friends. We both will be moving to darkfall soon and leaving wow.
Neverwinter Nights 2 (NWN2) The graphics do like a step up from NWN1 but for some reason I don't have that special feeling of excitement I had when I was waiting to close shut the jaws of OBLIVIon! I noticed the action bar is different then that of NWN1 at the bottom of the screen. Guess I’ll have to wait for more details, but I’m curious for those that actually paid for their games of nwn releases not that I’m against that did you notice how they keep coming out like gold version, platinum version, diamond version...what next krypton or mithril version? also do you like paying $10 or $20 for mods or would you rather buy a new game that isn't a mod? It’s their marketing choice though.
Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning I am a fan of the warhammer novels, however that doesn't mean this MMORPG will be as cool as the world and so forth. What’s interesting about this game is its all pvp from what I gather from their website, and for once what I like because this is new, characters actually change in appearance as they grow! I will be watching closely on this game since I’m a fan of the novels. I’m curious as to what you guys think about the game.
Dungeon and Dragons Online Dungeons and Dragons I’m surprised some of us nwn players never actually tried this MMORPG...there is a trial version for fun. I played this MMorpg before I got Oblivion. there are not that many complaints, besides its not free like nwn2 online but it’s actually like playing dungeon and dragons with paper and pencil, the closest your going to get. The game even has a narrator with a voice for each dungeon. The game starts out with you picking your realm then your race and class sort of like wow, then after that you’re on your way. Each quest is broken up into instances that you can either enter as a party or by yourself, if your brave enough...instances are repayable on different difficulty settings if you complete them. This game is a lot of fun to play with other people, there are traps, mazes, puzzles and combat, the graphics are very good too. I don't remember the game music though and I didn't like how some of the armor designs look, I’m a heavy mail armor enthusiast I still have this game installed and check their site every couple of months but I prefer to play one mmorpg at a time
Darkfall Online This MMORPG is supposed to be more Realistic and less unrealistic. There are no levels and your characters are classless. Think of Oblivion Online but there are no sneaking level 60 rogues with stealth waiting for you, they could hide in shadows or lay prone in over grown grass but they are still visible. You can build armies of followers, towns castles, and adventure in dark foreboding places to fight against creatures that could make you stop smoking . all characters now have a chance against each other no more run from the level 60, even if your character is decked out in the best items in the game, you still have a chance. Character names will no longer be displayed during the game so no useless clutter on the screen that takes away from that feeling that hey I’m actually am role playing this game not playing with people that could care less about rpg character names and name them selves questions, Chuck Norris, noobslayer, captain planet or Potatoe or Potato. I am kind of worried about the graphics though and will still look as things develop on their website.
I hope they don't butcher Medieval Total War2 cause I’m looking forward to it
That leaves left
Guild Wars
Ultima Online
Final Fantasy Online
if you guys played these games or would like to share your experience or thoughts I would enjoy reading them because I never experienced these games and would appreciate it.
