Hi all

I found the shoes of the scorpian in the catacombs beneath aleroth quite early on. as this is my fifth game i was looking for other shoes that could be better because after finding the shoes of the scorpian on every game i have never taken them off. i was wondering if anybody knew any good footwear other than these. also, it may sound a bit noobish to you, i have never put any charms on any items. i keep finding the orb things but never know how to use them ! any help on this is greatly appreciated.

cheers

The Boots of the Vampire, from the dark cave north of Ars Magicana, are potentially the best footwear in the game.

I also didn't use charms, except one. I saved them up until I had better equipment to use them on, but by then I didn't really need the extra bonus. As for using them, see;

Enchanting items - step by step or Enchanting weapons/armour/items

Definitely the Boots of the Vampire. Last time I played they had the following stats:

Boots of the Vampire

Durability 10
Weight 20
[color:"yellow"]Charm Quality: 5
[color:"blue"]Armour: 270
5 Percent Chance of Absorbing Damage
+4 to Defense
+80 to Vitality
+10 Resistance to Spirit
[color:"blue"]Recuperation Time 5
Required Strength: 10

The armour rating is very high, the vitality bonus is considerable, the spirit resistance is great and you can add five charms!
(The stats are random, so try a couple of times.)

So go get those boots!

I am in blood
Stepp'd in so far, that, should I wade no more,
Returning were as tedious as go o'er.

I wasn't that interested in the armour class, since I rarely got hit in the feet (I don't think I ever had to repair any footwear). Charm Quality was irrelevant to me, since I had decided not to use any more charms by then, but I ended up with the max anyway.

Boots Of The Vampire

Durability 10
Charm Quality 5
Armour 70
2 Defense
80 Vitality
80 Magic
Identify +1

yeah the vamps boots are great, but getting them off his feet are another matter. when you eventually get his door open hes a tough cookie. the only way i managed to get him was with a bow and kept running from side to side making him chase me. that way i got in a few hits while to sauntered towards me.
