Well, the main problem I had with "clicky" in D1 was that holding down the left mouse button on a monster only attacked once. No other Diablo style RPG I've played has had that happen to me.

Harbinger is definitely clicky, but at least I can hold down the shift key and the left mouse button to keep attacking while standing in one spot (as long as standing in one spot is safe, frequently isn't)

Definitely neither D1, D2, or Harbinger can compare to though.

Oooh boy, Diablo 1 will always have a special place in my heart. Other than a couple of the Zelda games and other mucho old stuff (God of Thunder, mmmm), D1 was one of the first RPGs I played; certainly one of the first I owned myself.

I would also play with you, but Christmas and my birthday hit in the last few months, and I got myself Neverwinter Nights 2 and Gothic 3 (I'm still hacking at NwN 1, I'm just too dang busy).

Everyone else: play sum Diablo! It never gets old! (besides all it's... oldness ) I used to take a hit at it every once in a while (jeez, I make it sound like a drug ), but now these other RPGs are darn long and I gotsa lotsa worka do.

Sorry man, but good luck findin some team mates for one of the greeetest games evar!

Killerzzz

I played the demo of harbinger,
i thought the settings were great!
a ship in space floating thousent of years,
you have to find the resin of this ship,
It would be a great novel
however, the demo was not as i espected,
it was slow and it repeated itself to fast
about spacehack, think of downloading the demo. looks nice

LOL well since we are anyway (as usual) I am playing the Demo of Gothic 3 and have promptly ordered the game ..from The CDRomshop as for a Demo it was just excellent ... reminds me a lot of Oblivion the Graphics ain't that good but they are close, and well the story is so loose you can basically do anything first and the rest later or Vice Versa, IOW I am impressed ... way to go Piranha

I personally WOULD be interested if I still had a copy. Unfortunately I don't have one and Blizzard's online store doesn't have Diablo 1 available for buying alone, only as part of the battle set. I have plenty of Diablo2.

I'm personally going to search the internet for a demo version so I can see if I still like it as much as I remember liking D1.

I believe it is still available alone here in Germany as low-budged.

Availability in Germany doesn't help me as I'm in the US.

Oh, and for those who love Diablo but want something newer, I can recommend Titan Quest. All that repetitive XP grinding with some quests, and a decent skill system with more freedom than either Diablo game had. Though of course it's inferior to Divinity, it is fun for when I feel like playing a Diablo style but don't want to play Divinity.

Well, if you're content with playing a German game, then I might try to buy and send the game to you, provided you send me the money plus shipping. I won't exploit you, just the money for the game and the shipping. Shipping might be not cheap, though (I don't have much experience with that because I sent only one time a package into the world outside).

I appreciate the offer, Alrik, but I've decided I don't want to play Diablo1 again based on the demo. Also, I don't think I know even a single word of German.

You're reinforcing my opinion that the Larian boards have a lot of the nicest forum posters I've seen recently, though.
