Hi there,

I have a few questions to ask:

The potions: in the game I came across potions as "Minor Constition Potion" "Minor Strength Potion" etc. They are for increasing the particulair mentioned stat, but do they increase it permantly or temporarly?

(Magical) spheres: On the first battlefield I came across a sphere with a weird 6-letter name more less on it, or a combination of 2 times 3 letters with a "-" between them. there is a store in the Battlefield wich also sells those spheres and alchemy plants, what are those things, and what's their use? what are alchemy plants useful for?

On the battlefield I have to find somekind of an Axe of the Fox wich one of those merchants told me about, yet I cleaned the first dungeon almost entirly, killed the level 12 Gargoyle, the 2 Spiders and the Golem, yet did I miss the Axe then or not?

Some merchants don't have enough cash to balance the payment to me when I want to sell something, however if I'm learning new skills, I pay them the cash but they do not appear in getting the money in their pockets when, I'm trading with them afterwards. In the end the problem I'll get: having a lot of stuff which I want to sell, I got low money and the merchants don't have the money to pay me if I want to sell them. Including also that I don't want any items from them which they sell. How can I learn new skills to myself yet being able to take the money back again by selling my junk to them?

Sorry for sounding quite stupid on these questions, but thanks in advance if you do answer them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Cheers!

Edit: I forgot to add something: Both of my characters are warriors.

Yes, they are usually for specific stats, and yes, they are usually temporary increased (the stats, I mean). There *are* permanent potions out there, but these are very, very rare. They have a special look.

With the needed level in alchemy plus with Holy Water, you can brew permanent potions yourself. But holy water is rare, too.

These Spheres can be used to enhance the character's equipment. I think you need a skill to be able to do that, but I'm not sure.

A right-klick on an equiment item should reveal round "slots" into which you can put the spheres (one per slot).

You need the alchemy plants to be able to do alchemy - brewing potions, that is - at all. You'll need a full set of these plants anyway, and the brewing process withdraws the needed plants from your inventory, so to say.

Raze has written & compiled in the tips section of this forum several texts you should read, because they contain useful information for you. Some of them are spoiler-free, some of them are not.

You can find a list of them here.

There's also an official strategy guide out there, in PDF, downloadable at RPGDot, if I remember correctly. If you rather want to explore the game yourself, I advice rather not to use it, or only at difficult points, because it is quite detailed.

Hope this helps a bit.

Alrik

When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.

Permanent potions have 'permanent' in the name.

BF quest items and monsters are placed randomly on the third levels of the dungeons. It is possible for any particular dungeon to have none, one or multiple items or boss monsters.

There is no skill required to charm equipment (there was in DD).

If you have the patch installed the BF merchant inventories regenerate each time you enter the BF, so you can visit repeatedly to sell off stuff (and maybe check for holy water, to make permanent potions). Some people just sell to the potion dealer, so as not to fill up the inventories of the other merchants that they might want to buy from (if they hang on to your junk it makes it harder to look through their selection). You can also trade with the guy that sells charms and jewelry, though you will loose a bit of value that way trading them again for other goods.

Many thanks for answering! I'll post again if I got some (silly) questions again.

Cheers!
