I recently purchased this game cheap and used, the discs are in very good condition. I installed it seemingly without a hitch [twice!] on a clean OS install with updated drivers and the latest patch. It plays fine in regards to saving/loading and framerate - but there's a persistent glitch that causes several objects [empty flasks, candles, sandals, herbs - and even walls, fencing and NPCs] to appear as torches. Yes, torches. The torch-characters are still interactive, but the objects aren't - and they all have massive weights [flasks are 6491, lockpicks 4567...].

Despite the problems, what I've been able to play of the game has been highly enjoyable, and I'd very much like to get this situation fixed.

That is very strange... I'd guess a corrupt objects.000 file (in the '..\Divine Divinity\Run\static' folder) is to blame.

There is a file verification procedure in the Troubleshooting Tips topic which can identify any missing or corrupt files, which can then be replaced or repaired.

You can post the results of the FileCheck program here, but I'll assume the objects.000 file mentioned above is at least part of the problem, and give a download link (83KB) for a known good copy. If your objects.000 file shows up as corrupt, delete or rename it, then download mine and unzip it into the 'static' folder.

Hi again!

I am happy to report that all is well, thanks to your advice, Raze. Oddly enough, when I ran the File Check program it said that all files and folders were the same as the verify list. So I just replaced the objects.000 file and now there are gloriously beautiful walls, flasks I can pick up, healing potions that don't weigh insane amounts - everything's as it should be.

I'm very grateful. Thank you SO much!
