Can somebody please tell me what triggers the theft of the axe of stone?I'm already deep in the dark forest after doing a lot of quests and in fiu nimble the elves complain about the theft of their ceremonial items.However upon visiting their burial grounds,the false orc-dwarves don't appear and in the dwarven village the axe of stone is not yet stolen.

You will not get the stone axe quest or the one to retrieve the elven ceremonial items until after you have been to the castle. More specifically, (minor) <span class='standouttext'>Spoiler : </span><span class='spoiler'>you need to enter the castle, get out, get the quest to rescue Zandalor, do so, then let him teleport you somewhere.</span> (highlight the text to read)

The fake dwarves can appear before you have the elven item quest (in which case the doors to the camp past there remain closed and sealed), but apparently not until after you have been to the castle (not sure of the exact trigger; I did the castle before entering the Dark Forest).
