Okydoke. I've got myself Roxio Easy Media Player 9, and I want to burn some of my video files onto a DVD with some nice menu. I can do that, and all, but I have one problem:
The video files are widescreen. Normally, when you put a widescreen DVD it will just add those black bars at the top and bottom and adjust to your TV without cropping (cutting out) any part of the picture.
When I play my created DVDs, it stretches and crops the video to the point that a third of it is missing from the sides (and a bit on the top and bottom).
Is there any way that I can fix this problem?
I've already made sure that my DVD player is set at letterbox mode and I've tried all the other modes too, to no effect. Same with the TV.
I've also tried the Roxio forum, but they gave me a vague answer and when I went back the next day I found my account to be deleted; I was too annoyed to go back, and I fogot about it for a while.
I know we have some program savy people here, and I was just wondering if anyone knew what to do about this.
Thanks!

I think it has to do with the way sctreens are displayed, the rate (speed) of frames per second.
I recently read an very interesting article on that regarding HDTV, and that players are currently not really "ready" for European PAL territories - just because of that (frames per second).

You want to change the aspect ratio it records at. Just don't ask me how...
I suspect that the program won't actually do what you need it to, judging by the official forum response, though.

Interesting stuff, guys. Thanks!
I'll keep trying to experiment with stuff. I've just come to realise that the X-Box 360 has a function that changes its video setting to a widescreen display, even on normal TVs. It fixes the problem somewhat, but still not completely.
Oh well. I can still watch them on my PC and adjust it there! (although that makes putting it on DVD pointless).
Still, more buttons remain unpressed and switches un... switched and I shall keep trying to fiddle-de-diddle with all kinds of functions to fix this problem.
And I'll definantly try out your suggestions.
Also, do you know of any program that does have a feature to fix my little problemo? For example, I haven't seen the newer Nero yet, does it do it?
