When I get items with bonuses to skills, the passive ones don't seems to show up. IE... my holy items quest reward, a dagger, says it gives the following:

lightning (5)
Stun (4)
Poison (3)
Assasin's Kiss (1)
Flash Attack +1

But when I look at my skills, I only have flash attack, none of the others (I have one in assasin's kiss, but I put it there ages ago when I leveled..I would think it should go up to 2 with the item..but it doesn't)

I have other items with the same problem... Are those passive skills not supposed to show up? What's going on?

Thanks..

Any skills which have a +1 after them refer you your own skills, otherwise, they are different and separate. You can have Lightning(5) on a weapon and the skill Lightning Damage, and get two chances to add lightning damage in an attack. The passive skills are not suppose to show up under your skill list.

Thanks AGAIN Raze.

I tried looking it up in the booklet..but didn't see an explanation. I appreciate you taking the time to answer.

so what does the number refer to? Lightning(5) or Stun(3) or Assassin's Kiss(1)
Does it mean it's chance of working is equal to the number? Or it works as if
the skill is at (1) or (2) etc ? If so if you have Assassin's Kiss at 5 and have a dagger saying "Works with Assassin's Kiss(1)" what would it mean?

The number in brackets still refers to the skill level (1 to 5), but the skill is separate from the ones in your skill list. For the most part, I think corresponding skills have the same or similar effect, chance to hit, etc. One exception is that Frost on a weapon ignores the target's resistance, so is much more powerful than Freeze.

Assassin's Kiss(1) would give you an extra chance for double damage to be applied. AFAIK (not using the skill), the "Works with Assassin's Kiss" description applies to any short sword, dagger, knife, etc. that is shorter than a certain length, and does not specify a skill level.

Hrm not clear on it yet....

My Assasin's Kiss as at 5 = 50% chance of doing a backstab during a round.
Now say i get a weapon with "Assassin's Kiss(1)" on it. Will my own
skill override the weapon's version or does this mean
during a round i will have 2 backstabs? Thus a 50% chance and another 10% chance of doing a 2nd backstab in one round? Or is it 50% + 10% = 60% chance?

Same with say Stun(3). Lets say you have your own Stun at 2. and have weapon with Stun(3) on it. Will it now stack? or will it be two chances of stuns in one round? Not sure what Stun 2 is , let's say it's 20% chance and is length of 2 rounds. So during a single round there will 20% of a stun intially, and another say
30% chance -after- that one to stun again in -one- round? And if the initial from your own skill hits, and the weapon's stun hits will the times stack or what?
- or again, will the larger skill override the other? Thus if your own
stun is at 2, and you get a weapon with stun(3), only the weapon's stun
will actually come into play..making your own skill in it worthless?
