You mean at the Altar with the glowing ball? The thing that works by reputation?

Hi Goldilocks,
What or who do you pray to ?
Is this a recurrent theme ?
& Do I have to join ?
In principle I do not feel comfortable praying to Dwarfs, Elfs, wizards or any fauna - Is their a religion-belief theme in the game and forum ?
Hack & slash is effective, why differ ?

you pray to the Gods of Good or Evil. Not sure if it goes by your reputation or not. and yes at the alter with the blue glowing orb. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

There is a Shrine of Good and Evil (on a plateau south of the dwarven village, maybe, IIRC), but there is no need (or request) to pray. Save first, then talk to it. You will get +5 or -5 to one of your stats. This is picked randomly, though it may be influenced by your level or reputation. I saved, then re-loaded until I got +5 to strength. IIRC about 6 of 10 tries were positive.
There is no religious theme in the game, or forum. There are 3 holy items, 3 ceremonial artifacts, the Demon of Lies is chaos incarnate, but that is about it. Actually, for a role playing game where you are trying to save the world from evil, there is a decided lack of any kind of a moral or religious structure.

It's definitely reputation dependent.
It judges you, and if it thinks you are Good (high rep) it reward you.
If you have a low to average rep, it punishes you, so do NOT use it!
Obviously you want to get your rep as high as you can before using it, so it's probably best to wait to just before you ring the gong.

Raze has a good point. but the +/- 5 points goes to the stat that is your characters dominate one, warrior is strength, wizard is intelligence, suvivor is agility.

Actually, playing a warrior I got changes to strength, agility and intelligence (don't remember if constitution came up) on different tries. I got -5 on something my first try, then +5 strength my second. Not leaving well enough alone, I had to try again (without saving first) to see what else was available, and needed about another 8 tries to get +5 strength.

I tried it early in the game (rep was 2) and i lost 5 on every attribute. Later on i tried again (after reloading ofcorse) with rep over 20 and gained +5 to all attributes.
Rep is deffenetly the checkpoint for what you get here!!
Love the good way (for now....) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/alien.gif" alt="" />

Yes. I tried it with different reps. And it does count. It's been to long though... don't remember what rep you need.
