You mean the amulet for the elf by the well in the elven village? When it comes to jewelry, the most knowledgeable person in the game would be the dwarven jeweler in the dwarven halls....

What do you mean by 'without end'? There should be a final cutscene when the Demon of Lies is defeated, which requires the play CD in an optical drive (if you were using the configuration file edit to skip the intro videos, you wouldn't need the CD to start the game).

There was a bug, fixed in the patch, which could cause the Demon of Lies to hang in mid death animation if it was killed by a scorpion or summoned / resurrected creature. In this case, you can either install the patch, or simply reload and kill him again, making sure your character gets the last hit in.
Some re-release versions of the game may already be updated to the latest 1.0034A version, as shown in the bottom right corner of the main menu, so would not need to be patched. The DVD version is already updated, and the patch (designed for the CD version) should not be installed.

If you just felt the final cutscene left the story unfinished, that was deliberate.

I would have never thought that the language of pure image is so hard to understand. We have to think about that in the future...

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

Ascension "Blessing" cutscene
After you got sacrificed by the council of seven your spirit awakes in a divine realms on an altar. Around you the ideas of the seven gods are manifesting. You can roughly separate impish, human, elven or orcish gods...
Everyone of them grabs into their chest and puts a small part of the heart into your weightless shape. After you received all blessing the in you is fully developed and so her wings grow and she flies up to the mortal plane where she descends as the reborn hero into the wastelands.

Extro scene
You see the demon of lies dying. In fact you see the mutiliated body of janus ripped into pieces and the leftover, the sword of lies, remains. It comes closer and tries to seduce the hero. The hero is tempted to take it but refuses and sends it back to hell away from the mortal plane.
Then the hero hears the cries of the baby. Knowing that it is the lord of chaos inside the child he/she draws the dagger to kill it. In the hero's moral struggle to kill a neborn innocent child the scene fades out.
Much later you see the hero walk out victorious into the swamp area. He carries something. Loot? The child? You don't know for sure...
Somewhere on a distant hill Arhu and Zandalor watch you coming when suddenly the statue you lifted up in the sky while entering the katacombs of aleroth comes down finally...(side joke, nothing more)

For some reason the final cutscene was skipped, and you went straight to the credits.
Did you maybe hit the escape key or something just after killing the Demon of Lies (ie just as the cutscene was about to start)? A mouse click may also have skipped the video (that works to skip the intro videos, anyway). Did you have the play CD in a drive? I'm not sure what else would cause this.

CD in drive. Didn't hit anything, because I killed him with freeze and poisoned weapon... By the way, were there more cutscenes in the game? I think there is something wrong with my game. When I chose ,,view intro'' there showed nothing...

What language version of the game do you have?

There should be cutscene videos played when the game is started, after hitting the gong to start the blessing ceremony in the council hall, and after defeating the Demon of Lies. Even if you have used the configuration file edit to skip the videos when starting the game, choosing the 'view intro' option from the main menu should prompt you for the play CD in order to show the video.

From the readme file:

Quote
Problem: The cinematics do not play well. The cinematics are more like a slide show, block or even exit the application.
Cause: the Bink player cannot play the movie optimally
Solution:
1) download and install the latest version of the binkw32.dll: www.radgametools.com
2) download and install the latest drivers of your video card
3) on the ATI Radeon cards, setting the monitor refresh rate to 60 Hz solved the issue:
... a) right click on your desktop, select properties, settings
... b) click the advanced button, and choose monitor
... c) set the refresh frequency to 60 Hz, test and apply

There is also an option 4 in the readme file about deleting the *.bik files from the static folder to prevent them from being played, but they do not get copied to the hard drive during install. There should be 5 *.bik files in the '..\disc3\static' folder on the play CD (or something similar if you have the DVD version of the game).

If you browse to the '..\disc3\static' folder on the play CD, can you copy the *.bik files to your hard drive?

Did you try downloading the bik player from the Rad Game Tools website?

Do you have access to another computer you could temporarily install the game on? If the intro works on another system, then with saves before hitting the game and before killing the Demon of Lies you could watch the other cutscene videos.

If the bik played can not play the bik files, then the company may have dropped support for older versions of the video format, or there may be something wrong with your system (or the CD itself).

Were you able to copy the bik files to your hard drive? If so, then the problem probably isn't the play CD.

Have you had any problems with video in other games?
If you run dxdiag (click Start | Run, type in dxdiag and hit Enter), does it report any problems? There are a couple of tests under the Display tab.

Can you boot into Safe Mode? (ie hold the F5 key down as Windows starts to load or hit the F8 key to bring up a boot menu). One person had corrupt monitor file which caused a crash whenever the computer tried to switch to 640x480 resolution, so they couldn't boot into Safe Mode or start Beyond Divinity (due to the intro video).

Since you can copy the *.bik files, there is unlikely to be a problem with the play CD itself.

I asked about Safe Mode to see if your computer and/or monitor had a problem switching to 640x480 resolution. That is unlikely, but it has happened.

The RAD Video Tools can convert the bik files to avi (or even, based on the FAQ, an executable or screen saver), which you should have better luck trying to view.
