I was wondering - I read somewhere in the forum, that if you are going to enchant your weapon/armour you should use mostly the gold and silver orbs (among others because you cannot remove them after enchanting them) And that they were to be found outside Rivellon ...
Well, how many gold and silver orbs/charms are there? I am still working in Rivellon and Verdistris, and so far I have found 2 gold and 1 silver. And I have like 5 pieces of armour that can be enchanted, and a lot of red and blue orbs, and I am holding back on using them, in case more of the gold and the silver shows up.
Also where can you by them? Sofar I have only gotten them from dead enemies.

Before hitting the gong, I had 59 silver charms and 6 gold. In the wastelands (the final area of the game) I found or bought another 60 gold charms (using up the 29 stacks of 50k gold I brought with me to the wastelands and most of the loot and gold gathered there).
Before the wastelands I also found 24 red (medium) charms, 19 blue (minor) and 1 green (weak).

Anyone can have charms (some people reported pickpocketing charms from soldiers) but the best NPCs to check would probably be Kistandalius or (less so) Blake in Ars Magicana and Corinna or (less so) Mpenzak in Verdistis.

If you quick save before running your mouse over an item/chest/merchant or hitting the alt key, you can identify the item or trade with the merchant, then quick load to get different stats or inventory. This can be done repeatedly to get the best stats or specific bonuses on an item (save after finding good candidates) or looking for specific items (such as spell books or charms) from merchants. Don't waste too much time with this, though, it really isn't necessary to get the best possible equipment.

I also held off using charms until I had better equipment and charms, but by the time I did I was strong enough not to need any additional boosts. The game gets a little easier as it progresses, and I reloaded to make sure I had really good dragon armour and holy sword, etc (which I wouldn't waste much time on playing again). Gold also gets easier to come by, so I continued collecting charms, as well as purchasing any spell books that I thought might come in handy.

That was quite a large amount of gold and silver charms ... But my character is not so strong, - Have focused more on getting a high mana level (700 by now) and enchanting is really great to boost all the other areas. But I guess that the game is made in a way so that it is possible to get throug one way or the other Is the Wasteland harder since you can get so much good stuff from it?

Thanks for the inventory refreshment trick at the mercants - I will definitly try that one out.

When do you actually enter the wastelands? after doing what? I am in the dark forest as it is, putting Zandalor on hold in the Dwarwen Bread Inn (have rescued him) - Is the "becomming the divine one" the end of it, which means you should not do it, until every thing else is done?

Also when I look at the Complete maps in Divinity, I see one called Imp world. Where is that???? It makes me think I might missed a quest? Or is it where the imp that took the teleporter pyramids while in Stormfist went? And if where is it????

Yes. It also helps that I was playing a warrior that game, and could neglect intelligence (as a mage you can not completely neglect strength, agility or constitution, so it is harder to balance your stat points). I could rely on equipment bonuses (or an occasional restoration potion) for my mana requirements (only used a handful of mage spells, mostly learned from spell books).

I was level 45 when I hit the gong to head to the wastelands. That was a high enough level (combined with good equipment) that I found the area fairly easy (most people hit the gong in the high thirties to mid forties. Even the end bosses didn't pose much of a problem.

Of the 60 gold charms I got in the wastelands, I bought half with gold I brought with me and got probably more than a quarter from enemy drops. The value of the loot gathered there was enough to buy the remaining charms (about 10 to 15, or so), but the quality wasn't spectacular. I did replace my sword with one slightly better, and there are a couple potentially good axes in the wastelands, but most of what I found wasn't close to what I already had (though I bought some nice leggings from the merchant there).

After you let Zandalor teleport you somewhere else and clear that area, he will give you a quest to gather some people together (also, you can get your teleporter stones back there). When you complete those quests and hit the gong in that new area to start a ceremony, you will be sent to the wastelands. Feel free to hit the gong before gathering everyone, but as you suspect, it is a one way trip once the ritual to become the Divine One is ready to start, so you need to finish everything else you wish to first (before that, your character will just make a comment when you click on the gong).

One of the people you need to get for Zandalor is an imp, who is hiding in the area the screenshot is for. Like a couple of the other people, you need to get the quest before being able to enter certain areas, or before someone will be at a certain location.

Thank you - it is very helpful. Especially because you sometime are unsure when to do what. So now I will go on - cheerfull and confident
