Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Sewers - Merchant Square

Hi, there is a pretty large sewer you can go into in the merchant area where you kill the culprit of the black market/ merchant wagon. I've explored the whole first area, and also killed the Executioner.

I noticed that there are 2 Sewer Pipes leading to another whole Sewer and I'm exploring these vast areas with no quest chain for the sewers so I put it on a halt until I know if its just a free area to explore, or part of a quest.

My question is without any spoilers about whats in the sewers, Are there any quest chains I should obtain first before venturing the Sewers, because I'm currently searching around making sure I'm not missing any quest chains for the Sewers before I continue to venture through them.

There is one sewer pipe that leads to the Verdistis sewers, and another that leads back near the Ars Magicana market square entrance of the Rivertown sewers.

You do not have to worry about getting any quests before exploring the Verdistis sewers.
Make sure your spiritual resistance is at least 10 or 12, though, or save before opening chests. There are 2 trapped chests that can permanently turn you into a frog or rabbit, requiring you to reload your last save. During development of the game Polymorph was made permanent and all the traps were suppose to have been removed, but 2 in the Verdistis sewers were missed.
