First of all thanks to the developers and testers for making such an awesome game.
I played for over 50 hours and finished the game with a level 50 warrior. From the first load of the game I was amazed at the detail and effort that went into every part of the game. Anyways i have some questions about the ending, I killed the demon of lies and then it cut right to the cutscene (is this normal?) of the demon being sucked back down into hell and the sword with it and then i raise a dagger over the child and then it cuts to outside with zandalor watching me carry the child out and a statue falls right beside him. My question is whats the deal with the statue and is the kid the lord of chaos (i think he is).

Great Game can't wait until theres a sequel or expansion!

That is normal, yes. As to the statue: Do you remember a scene from the first village, what happened when you entered the first dungeon? You had to turn those dragons, and then...

I just beat the game as well, with a level 48 warrior. I, too, really enjoyed the game. I found the latter parts of the game to be a little less than desired.

SPOILERS

I was really disappointed that the Council of Seven was killed. I'd known Mardaneus and Goemoe for the whole game. To see them casually killed was painful. Similarly, Bronthion and the dwarf were good characters, who didn't deserve such a trivial death. I'd rather they were imprisoned, or turned to stone, or something, so that I could rescue them later.

The ending itself needed some work. The demon's death scene was good, but I wanted more after that. Where was the triumphant return to Rivellon? What happens now that Janus is dead? Is the Source now repaired? I was curious about the statue, but I get it now. That's cute, but I'd rather see some more meat than a silly joke.

Are there different end game scenes for each of the three classes, or do all characters show up in full armor? (I realize that most characters are, in fact, wearing plate armor at that point...)

AFAIK, there is just the one ending.

*sigh*
I would have never thought that the language of pure image is so hard to understand. We have to think about that in the future...

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

Ascension "Blessing" cutscene
After you got sacrificed by the council of seven your spirit awakes in a divine realms on an altar. Around you the ideas of the seven gods are manifesting. You can roughly separate impish, human, elven or orcish gods...
Everyone of them grabs into their chest and puts a small part of the heart into your weightless shape. After you received all blessing the in you is fully developed and so her wings grow and she flies up to the mortal plane where she descends as the reborn hero into the wastelands.

Extro scene
You see the demon of lies dying. In fact you see the mutiliated body of janus ripped into pieces and the leftover, the sword of lies, remains. It comes closer and tries to seduce the hero. The hero is tempted to take it but refuses and sends it back to hell away from the mortal plane.
Then the hero hears the cries of the baby. Knowing that it is the lord of chaos inside the child he/she draws the dagger to kill it. In the hero's moral struggle to kill a neborn innocent child the scene fades out.
Much later you see the hero walk out victorious into the swamp area. He carries something. Loot? The child? You don't know for sure...
Somewhere on a distant hill Arhu and Zandalor watch you coming when suddenly the statue you lifted up in the sky while entering the katacombs of aleroth comes down finally...(side joke, nothing more)

I should pay more attention to details. Miised point with falling statue also. Now, as I read your posts, yes, it it funny indeed. Good joke Larian.

As for ending (finished the game yesterday), I expected a bit more. As for visual part, Lord of Chaos dies in a bit diablo-style way with all those lines of lights coming out of him. But it was very nice to see swamps divine exits the dungeon.
He carries something?
I thought that child... Lord of Chaos, who died and respawn as a child in the same way as divinity did.

Or was it Divinity itself being kept as a hostage for sacrifice by the Lord of Chaos. No this doesn't make sence. Divine will not attempt to kill Divinity, but again if child is new Lord of Chaos, who is in sword of lies then. Sword tried to enslave the Divine One, but he succeded to refuse.

Anyway, there is a good base for DD2.

Overall impression. Good game, good graphics, awesome music, plot could be a bit deeper, characters could have been a bit more ballanced (My char was clearly overpowered when I entered wastelands, killing every ordinary mob in 1-2 hits. Black Ring members were a peace of cake, I played with them, Turned one of them into funny looking frog, suffering from kicks of my heavy boots Then casting raise-dead on another one (that with polearm) after his death-, but couldn't get rid of him, because he was killing deathknights in 4 hits and sucked my exp.)

Good luck Larian, and thanks for great game. And pls. keep up doing good work with DD2

Sincerely

Addicted to games.
