Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Axe of Stone quest

I am working on getting all the members of the council of seven together and I'm working on the dwarven member. I know I have to retrieve the axe of stone, and I have spoken to both the mayor and the elf prisoner. I need to get the password from the mayor but it won't let me give him the ale from Rimmer. Am I missing a step?


Oh and if you have any suggestions on how to defeat the boss lady for the elven council of seven member quest that would be most helpful too. None of my attacks are hitting her.

I'm sorry to say, i can't help you on the "Axe of Stone" quest, mainly because i never gave any character ale? but to kill josephine, i had a big problem with that as well, i learned that everytime you kill her deathknight, she just summons another one, so just leave him alone, i froze her and cast deadly discs (or any spell that doesn't require a specific target) as fast as i could click while using healing potions and that about did it

A few people that had problems getting the mayor to talk found that removing all other alcohol from their inventory helped. You should be able to talk to him, offer him some of Rimmer's ale, convince him you are friends since you are drinking together and get him to reveal the password.
However, don't worry about not getting that to work. You receive more experience killing the guardian in the mines than you would from using the password, and it is an easy fight. Just head to the mines in the Dwarven Halls.


If you do not have any area effect spells that don't need a target, as Cenerion suggested, you can drink a shadow potion and wait for Josephine's Blind spell effect to wear off before trying a direct attack.
