Well, working on the game time number 3. smile It is as good.
Anyway, i have 57 stength, and all the shields i am trying to equip need 55. At first i thought it was the "blonde" shield i was trying...but no others will work either. I got 5 pionts from the wishing well towards it, it that maybe why it is not working?
Thanks!

Whatever it is, it's not the wishing well. (you only got 5 strength? I would advise getting a level-up bonus... ;)) I think maybe it is a "blond shield"! grin Next time you level-up, try putting more points into strength and see what happens. wink

P.S You're working on your 3rd character? Same with me... (AHHHHH!!! SCRAMBLE, SCRAMBLE, DON'T LET YOURSELF GET BEATEN BY A GIRL... grin)

Are you using a two handed weapon? In any case, try removing your weapon before attempting to equip a shield.

Does it make a difference if you click on a shield in your inventory, or try to drag and drop a shield into the equipment window?

Have you tried equipping lower quality shields, with either low strength requirements or none at all?

Are you sure you still have 57 strength? Perhaps a spell, potion or food effect could be an issue.

Unless you want the bonus fairly early in the game, 10,000 gold rather than 1,000 would have gotten you 10 strength.

Nope, one handed sword...but tried as you suggested and got rid of it - no avail.
Dragging it in same issue.
I currently have a shield that you need 35 strenght for.
I have been trying to arm these shields for a while, so dont think it is food or a spell. smile
Thanks for the suggestions though! I guess i will see what happens when i level up again.

If you start a new game, run over to George's shop and steal a shield, can you equip it? I think you might need to boost your strength with iZakaroN's SaveEditor (or from Kiya's site, with description), since the shield he has in the shop has a strength requirement. IIRC I bought a cheap small shield from him (or looted one from elsewhere) until I could equip the stolen large shield.

I noticed that if I drank strength potions to meet the strength requirements of a particular piece of armor, it would let me wear the armor, but it wouldn't give me any of the stat / skill boosts that came with the armor (INT, AGI, Traders Tongue etc). But when I had the right strength without potions, the stat and skill boosts worked. That doesn't sound like the problem here, I just wanted to mention it.
