Hey all,

This is my first posting on the boards. I would just like to say I have found alot of useful info on the game here!

Question 1. Who is this Mathieus (sp) guy near the merchant area? Can I kill him? he is really ticking me off heh... I opened a chest that I had brought from somewhere cause i couldn't open it at the time when i came across it. and when i took the contents out he accused me of being a theif! the nerve! sooo will i break a big quest if i just wack the guy? He's really askin for it.

Question 2. I have this problem from time to time where my stamina continually runs down to 0 even when im not moving. What causes this? I dont have any negative effects that i can see on me.

Thanks in advance for any help

I am using the 1.32 patch btw.

I would also like to say that Divine Divinity is the best game i have played in a long time. It actually dragged me away from Everquest which i have been playing for over 2 1/2 years! I love the 2D graphics, i have always thought 2D games where way better than 3D. I also love the way the quests are designed in DivDiv too...

Don't remember Matteus, but I suspect your stamina problems are caused by a certain item you are carrying...

I don't know of Mathieus, where is he exactly? Lt. Robin? Is he a guard? Do you mean Ars Magicana/Rivertown? If he's a guard, be careful and save before whacking... you could lose reputation.

Well I kill'd him and i took a 5 point rep hit. Are rep points worth the bother anyways? i did some thief quest where i hadto pickpocket someone and i think i lost 2 rep point too? Are rep points important?

thanks for the responses btw.

Reputation influences the price of items, though if you trade a lot with certain merchants their opinion will increase. Unless you start going into negative reputation, there are no drastic consequences.

Do you have a recent save, from before you killed him? If you use Poison Cloud, you should be able to kill him without the reputation drop (cast it near, but not directly on him); other area effect spells which do not require a target may also work.

The only quest where reputation is important is the one you get from Blake. When your reputation is too low he will not give the quest

Sorry, Engineer, rep. is not important for the Blake quest. If you get an invitation to the castle, you get a key, I was only 9-10 rep. and got it, my assumption very early on the old Forum was wrong.

Well, Raze found this out - as I had my invitations very early in the game I always thought it was because of 15-16 rep - Blake always blabbered about rep, right?
In my last game (Engl. version) I tried it out and kept rep. low = Raze was right, so credits to him <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

As far as EQ, I hear ya. Same here. I find it boring now and DD is very enjoyable. As far as your first question, no idea. The second, not sure but maybe as someone else, mentioned, your con and/or strength may have something to
do with it, or your encumberance. What are your strength and con? How much are you carrying? How long has it been going on? Maybe it is a spell effect
that you are not seeing.

to be correct you can get the key if you finished one of 3 big quests.
1. orcs
2. Poison
3. duke killer.

These are the quests that give you access to stomfist castle.µ

Hope this helps abit. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />
