Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems Loading saved games.

Hi,
Is there a reason it takes 2 to 3 minutes to load saved games. I have a very good computer. I have been playing this game for quite a while and am near the end, but I have never had saved games load so slow as with this game.I am trying to defeat josephine near the end and it is a real pain to have to wait 2 to 3 full minutes to load each time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

hey markus, have you installed the latest patch? It speeds up the saving/loading process quite a bit. I suggest you back up your saved game to another folder before patching to avoid any unforseen problems. My comp used to load verrrrry slllooooooowww too, but now it is much faster! hope this helps, you might want to look over the technical hints/tips page first! Good luck! Don't forget the further you get in the game, the bigger the saves are, so the longer they will take <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

it also depends on how many maps you have opened already: Farmlands, Verdistis, Dark Forest, Wastelands.

the more maps, the bigger the saves and the longer to load, imho this is the only downside to <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> although that it crashes more often on my PC nowadays
