confusedI was in Act 2 playing Battlefield Dungeon 2 when I just couldn't get to the northern half of the level. I had read posts about how this should not be so.
I tried everything: the Flash teleport skill repeatedly through any possible crack, tossing my teleporter stone through any chink, even surrounding myself with packages and summoning a doll to sppear on the other side of the wall. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!
If I hadn't already killed a bunch of monsters that dropped high quality loot I wanted using the wonderful insect swarm (like a bug-zapper), I might not care, but I feel like it's just taunting me. mad
I can provide screenshots, and all that. But I also have a complete save just on the other side of that wall, in the dungeon.
I have not posted here before, but have been reading the old forum for months. I just didn't think anyone was on it. (you were all here) This is actually the first question I have had that I did not find the answer already here. Admittedly, this is just an annoyance, and not even in the main game, but it just bugs me. Besides, I want to know what to do if I ever run into it again. question
BTW: I am running the 1.49 patch, and have done no hex-editing or anything like that. I am on Hardcore, and the game runs smoothly.

Part of a dungeon level being separated from the rest is a known, but fairly rare, problem with the level generation.

If you can get the summoning doll on the other side of a wall (as in armory trick in act 1), you can have it drop a teleporter stone on the ground there to get your main characters through.

alternately: Teleporting anywhere (via hex editor)

Thanks for such a quick reply. I have sent you an e-mail containing two zipped attatchments. One is the whole save. The other is two screenshots of the diary map showing the two walls that should have doors but are solid. If you load the character, you will see that she is standing just south of the larger wall, with a corridor then a large room just north of it. One pic is unmarked. On the other I wrote some notes in MS Paintbrush.
BTW: You might notice I turned the DK pink. It's pre-revenge for what he does at the end of the game. Plus he just looks so funny, a super bad-a** killer painted nail-polish pink grin . I had hoped some of the NPCs might react differently to "Pinkie", but...

I'm running a fully updated and protected XP Pro, and probably wouldn't install Vista if someone gave me a copy. (Too buggy and a resource-hog. I want a PC to run software, not an OS that takes up all the resourses. I have a Java Virtual Machine that runs DOS 6.2 and Win 3.11--there's a lean machine!)
There's a petition on the web to make Micro-soft (insert joke about Bill's wedding night) push back the day they stop supporting XP again. http://weblog.infoworld.com/save-xp/archives/2008/04/save_windows_xp.html
I also have free versions of anti-virus, firewall, and anti-spyware if anyone's interested. They update daily and run full scans.

Speaking of which, I should see if anyone is still making XP available on laptops....
